Dan and I came down to Portland for it's first Biznik event last month hosted at CubeSpace, and would like to return soon to host a happy hour at a "happening" venue in a hip neighborhood down there.

Have you got any suggestions of places we should consider, Christian?

In Seattle, we've held social networking event that we refer to as "Happy Hour" events, in that they usually start around 6pm and wrap up by 9. We don't rent out venues, but rather look for places that are generally slow on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, and are happy to have an extra 30-40 bodies there. Each person is responsible for their own tab.

Generally, cocktail lounges are preferred over pubs b/c of sound (like tvs and boisterous clientele. Sometimes the bar manager will offer all Bizniks wearing a nametag, happy hour prices all night - sometimes they don't.

Thoughts?
