Subscribe to Introduce your bad indie self www.unchainedworld.com launches this Thursday

May 2006 I bought a motorbike in Atlanta and rode it back to Seattle. Big Deal!

I only stopped at unique venues and kept off the interstates. It took 47 days and 10,000 miles, plus an idea that there's a lot better places to visit than the major, could be anywhere, fastfood outlets and motels.

Unchainedworld.com was formulated. It launches on Thursday and needs your recommendations.

There's more to it than that of course, but that's where the site comes in.

Cheers

I think you'll find a ton of contacts here on Biznik to help with your venture. It's a really great resource for meeting awesome people in small unique independent businesses!

Sounds like you've had an amazing life, thus far, and I look forward to hearing of some of your adventures. Hopefully you'll post some of them. :)

Wishing you all the best, Heather

We are working on some special functionality, so that has taken precedence over aesthetics so far, although the balance will be addressed as it's certainly not our policy that we've got a site, so let's sit back and see what happens.

I'd like to involve Biznik folk as much as possible, not only in getting unchained recommendations, but also because they are unchained businesses, using associated skill sets to develop what we do at Unchainedworld, for example, I'd like to look at turning travel blogs into on-line publishing opportunities. To turn unchained locations into possible unchainedtours.

Congratulations, Stephen. I know you've been working on this project for awhile. I'm looking forward to checking out www.unchainedworld.com when it launches.

I've met a couple Bizniks at events over the last year or so, who are involved in some kind of tourism business. One here in Seattle, if I remember correctly, created a business that creates cool dates for guys that are too busy to plan them themselves.

Another couple members who comes to mind are: Victoria Odell, who creates custom wine events; and Mercedes Yaeger, who leads ghost tours through Seattle's Pike Place Market.

Like the ghost tour idea. I'm already bored with showing our guests the same things when they come over to visit (I'm a Brit and so is my wife) and we've hardly touched the families yet in our first two years. God forbid any of them want to watch baseball, it's as dull as cricket, but without decent sandwiches.

We took a guest to abull riding rodeo a week or so back. Found it strange that 4 drunks pulled from the audience and then scattered as their table and chairs were stomped on by a bull, should have the winner presented with a rifle! I'm still struggling to think of anyone less suited to receive that.

    So, yes, anyway...thanks.

Are there any Bizniks that could help with promotional material, t shirts, badges etc, also on demand printing of softback books, and/or laminated maps?

Be happy to talk to you folk, unless of course you've just won a rifle!

I know there's lots of people who deal in promotional products on Biznik - jump into the Membership directory and search on "promotional".

Biznik used Leslie Lippi and her partner Char of B-Bam on Capitol Hill for our tshirts, tumblers, pens & things and love her! I've also heard great things about Jake Jacobsen of Your Name Here Promotions.

This forum is unmoderated, but please keep discussion courteous and not too far off topic.
