(Java) Workflow Developer for Image Processing Pipeline Job# 06-042

The Institute for Systems Biology is seeking a developer with experience in Java and high throughput data analysis. The project you will be working on will involve the development of aspects of the core infrastructure to support scientific data collection and processing.

This project involves the design and development of an image-processing pipeline. You will be prototyping, and subsequently implementing, a high-throughput experimental workflow system. We have basic design specifications and an existing legacy solution. Additionally, you will work with existing staff to develop system administration tools for maintenance of the application.

You must be self-motivated and experienced in user-centered design. A minimum of three years programming experience is required. Web Services, Java, familiarity with Matlab or R and RDBMS (mysql) required. Basic image processing experience, Open Source Workflow systems (ex. GenePattern, jBPM), Open Source Image Processing Tools (ex. ImageJ, CellProfiler, OME) strongly preferred.

This is a short-term (5 month) temporary (non benefited) position. You must be available to start work immediately.
