Subscribe to Starting a business I need to find a small business CPA.

Just became a legal LLC. It will be while before my income exceeds my expenses, but I want to find a tax person right now and develop a working relationship and really find someone right for me. I've had some interesting changes over the past couple of months, quit my job, collected unemployment, have severance income..... For the first year ever, I'm not sure how to do my taxes. Please help....

    Heather,

    Congratulations on becoming an LLC.

As an Enrolled Agent (http://www.professionaltaxservicesinc.net/enrolled-agent/) I have extensive experience with small businesses and with personal income taxes.

You are right to seek the help of a professional with all your life changing events. I would be glad to meet with you at your convenience so that you can interview me and I can answer some of those questions you have.

    Best regards

    Bill Bradfield, EA

    Hi Heather,

I just became an LLC last year and had a nightmarish experience with the first CPA I hired. I have since hooked up with Suzanne Rea, CPA in the U-District. She loves helping new entreprenuers and was enormously helpful to me. She is particularly skilled at explaining what is important, how things work, and how to make record-keeping easy! I highly recommend her. CSG Solutions, Inc. (206) 420-4245

I can highly recommend Randy Joseph of Joseph & Associates. 206-682-3177

I have worked with her for ten years, and always appreciated her professional knowledge as well as her personal warmth and her wonderful collection of contemporary art (many are her clients).

I recommend Brett Backues of Backuse & Company. His number is 425 557-5988. I have used Brett myself and see his delighted clients every day.

Also look into alternatives. CPA help is great when necessary but many are in the business to do taxes and only year end work. Find a business consultant or bookkeeper you like. Most have a 1st consultation no charge policy. My tax guy is actually in another state. Good luck, I know you will find the help you need!

    Heather,

You really came to the right place! It looks like you are going to have no end of recommendations, and that's just awesome. It truly shows how effective Biznik is as a support for all of us working to grow our businesses!

Now, to add to the list, here you go -- My husband (the CPA tax specialist) and I have a small business dedicated to serving other small businesses. We provide as much or as little assistance as you want, and we only charge by the hour (no per-form fees) for the work we do. That is an important consideration when you are weighing all the options that you are going to have sent to you!

Regardless of who you end up selecting to have work with you, we wish you wonderful success and look forward to watching your business grow and prosper.

Hi Heather, Now who you going to pick!? Plenty of good ones out there. If your still looking I just started my own CPA practice and my fees are reasonable. I am probably around your age which might be of interest. Good luck and congrats. Shaun Lawrence
