Subscribe to The Biznik Community Join Community Manager in a discussion about Feb. 2012 changes to Biznik

Change isn't easy for anyone.

We had nearly as many discussions as a team about how we would present the changes, as we did about what the changes would be. (And I'm not talking about a marketing-spin either.)

This is a community. Each and every one of you -- whether you joined as a paid member or a free member -- was a part of this community. Your contributions were noticed and valued.

The changes we put into place are intended to bump up the quality of the engagements and interactions. We retired the ability to join Binzik as a free member and implemented a nominal membership fee for Basic engagement.

Learn more about the changes. I invite you to come discuss these changes here.

Biznik is an excellent online community that offers great value for the money it charges. If there was a weakness, it was to offer too much stuff for free. I am glad to see it move towards a 'service for fee' business model.

Just a thought, I would love it if the articles I follow have a different email subject line than the discussions in biz talk have when email notifications go out. Sometimes I get a bit, well confused.

When thoughts become reality... Annastacia, your wish is our command. The notification email you receive will now have a different subject line when a comment is made on an article, event, or forum post.

I have a question and I am not sure it fits in here or not because I never used search before today. So here goes. I was trying to search in biz talk for specific discussions about social media. Now nothing happened, the search thing squirreled around and that was it Is search broken or did I just not use it right.

The transition discussed in this thread and related changes/improvements are great, perhaps long overdue.

I'd like to point out 2 things.

First, find a way to encourage 'paid' seminars and training. Most of those are still free. Clearly, there is a market for good seminars that provide solid information and real value, as demonstrated by 'sold-out' workshop presented by Dam McComb and Lisa Cooper.

Second, find a way to enhance participation by members in discussions.
