Subscribe to Website discussion and bug reports A few burning questions...

  1. Will the back button function EVER work on the Biznik site?? If I am looking at an event and hit the back error it takes me back to the first page of events...even if the event I am looking at is on page three. The same is true if I search a category of members...let's say accountant, for example. If a pool of accountants'profiles pop up after I have done a search and I click on one's profile and then hit the back button, I am returned to page one of the general members page. Argh!! I have seen other people post and complain about the over-sealous back button taking you all the way back to where your search started. Can this please be addressed?

  2. How do people make other member's names a live link to their profile in their Biztalk posts? For example if I am referencing the fabulous Elizabeth Lee how do I make her profile a secondary link embedded in my post?

  3. Why, oh why, oh does the function to make a URL a live link in a Biztalk post no longer work for me? I have emailed Dan about this directly and he sent two ways to accomplish this and neither work. It used to work for me...I put the link in quotes with the http:// (yada yada) but as of about 4 months ago, this does not create a live link...just regular text with the parenthesis and http:// as part of the text. Anyone else suddenly experiencing this with their posts when the procedure to link worked just fine before??

Sorry for the delayed response, Nancy. The back button issue is one of many bugs we're tracking on the site, and will fix in the order of priority. Turns out there are some higher priority bugs that we're working on right now, but rest assured, we know about it, and will fix it as soon as we can.

the problem with the live links is that the formatting help instructions are wrong. I've asked our developer to move that to the top of the priority list, so that will be corrected this evening. The problem is that the second url should not be there. It should be the square brackets containing the text you want linked, followed by the url in parenthesis one time, not two. The second time is what's throwing it off.

We just hired a second developer, Biznik member Matt McCormick, and once he's up to speed we will be making much faster progress on these issues. Thanks for your patience and for your support while we work through the growing pains.

    Best, Dan

    Nancy

what I did was the square brackets [] which are next to the p without the shift key before Nancy and after Nancy and then right after Nancy put your http info in the ( ). The trick is that there cannot be a space between the ](
