Thanks Andrew. I tried this and it seems like a great tool.
Enhanced Functionality: Leverage Your Social Networks
We've enhanced the tools for sharing Biznik content with other Internet destinations. Look for the 'Share' icon in the left sidebar and publish updates to Facebook, Twitter, and all the other popular services to let your extended network know what you are up to on Biznik!
We will continue to enhance and refine this system to even more tightly integrate these capabilities where appropriate. Stay tuned.

We've upgraded the Twitter functionality significantly. Authenticating your Twitter account from Biznik will now link your Biznik Profile with your Twitter account. This will enable two-click tweets throughout the site. You also get a Tweet Feed on the main page of your Biznik profile as a result.
Check it out and let us know what you think.

Andrew... I like the idea of the twitter feed, but IMHO would prefer it in a different location on the profile page, not above the "About You" space.
I also wished the video profile was on the right side column in the smaller format like on the general pages.
Thanks for all you do. ...Howard

To all:
Until we enable multiple Twitter accounts, here is the method for adding your Tweet Feed to your profile:
- Find something of interest on Biznik (an article, upcoming event, promotion, another member - or yourself if you have a big ego).
- Look in the left sidebar for the 'T' Twitter button.
- Click the button.
- Authenticate (enter your Twitter username and password) at the Twitter site.
- Oh wait, that was it. Your Twitter account is now linked to your Biznik profile. Feel free to complete your Tweet by clicking the update button in the left sidebar.
You can edit the display of your Tweet feed determining whether you would like to hide it or adjust the number of recent Tweets displayed by visiting your member profile page.

And.... If you really don't want to keep your Biznik profile linked with your Twitter account, you can delete the Tweet Feed from your profile. Just click 'EDIT' and then the Delete button to remove the association.

The new Twitter functionality is groovy! And I have a bit of feedback I'd like you to consider next time you are working on the Twitter feature...
I tried to find this feature everywhere... couldn't work out how to make a Twitter feed on my profile. Finally found your note here, and the directions you provided worked perfectly. Not very intuitive, though. Adding a Twitter feed seems like it should be the same as adding a Blog to your profile... at least that is where I assumed it would be when I went looking for it.
I agree with Howard. "About Me" is more important than my Twitter feed, and now it is "below the fold". Since Tweets are by definition short and sweet, I'd like to see them in the right column, below the Location map. (Above Promotions.) No need to give them all that lovely wide screen real estate!
When entering a Tweet, I need to see a character count. Gotta use those 140 chars wisely!
This is minor, but seems inconsistent: My Tweets are preceded by the date. But just below them, the Events I am attending are followed by the date. I'd suggest changing the Events list to show date first, then title.
Outstanding work, all around! Thanks for continuing to make Biznik better and better and better!!!

Love it, Andrew. Great stuff you guys are doing to make it easier to promote us!

Andrew... May I echo Christian's suggestion about the placement seems better in the right hand column and how exactly does the word count work in the little entry box?
I guess I could try editing it over the limit to learn myself, but I really wanted to hear it from you.
Thanks. ...Howard

All,
Sadly, a mere 170 members have actually enabled a Twitter account on Biznik. With that level of lackluster engagement, it seems we may not really have a market for the functionality in the first place. As it only requires a Tweet from Biznik to add the account, I don't believe it is a UI issue. In other words, only 170 members have actually tweeted about anything on Biznik. Rather disappointing, frankly.
We are looking at a general overhaul of the Member Profile pages and will consider placement of the Tweet Feed as part of that rework. Those leveraging Twitter on a regular basis may disagree with your assessment of the placement issue. The right sidebar is also very cramped when trying to stuff even a 140 character feed into the available space.
Should you attempt to post something longer than 140 characters, we'll let you know and tell you how many characters you need to remove from the post. If we get more uptake on Tweets from Biznik, I'll consider implementation of an as you type character count.

A character countdown has been added to the Tweet form for your viewing pleasure.

Andrew... I just tried to tweet from a couple of different pages, and the "update" button does not seem to work. The "cancel" button is still functional. ...Howard
P.S. Did you mean a "character count-up"? because that's what it does when I try it.

Let me know what you think about the placement on your profile - moved to the right sidebar. I had to drop the font size a bit to make 140 characters fit reasonably.

I think the right sidebar placement is good, but don't think where it was was bad. I'm not sure I agree that "About Me" is more important than the Twitter feed.
My thought is dynamic content is more engaging and interesting than static content. Speaking for myself, the "About Me" tends to be a little ego-centric, whereas the people I enjoy following on Twitter offer content/education in the 140 characters that I enjoy.
When people come across my Biznik Profile, I want them to see what I'm talking about across the Twittersphere, and they may or may not see it at first glance if it's not front-and-center.
That said, I personally have no preference (Maybe in the future, most of the profile components could be more like modules -- Ning.com and Wordpress, for example -- where members can drag-and-drop where they wish), as it really still is a new feature that I'm just observing how it's working.
I absolutely love these new, fabulous features you are rolling out, Andrew!
(As for the disappointing number of Bizniks using the feature, I think maybe a tutorial or video or even a series of blog entries and/or Facebook comments on how to use it might be helpful.)

Andrew - could you please enhance my profile by making sure that when you click on a category it takes you to that category in Everett, WA instead of Everett, MA?
Thanks,
DD
