Subscribe to Website discussion and bug reports homepage white space

Again, this could just be my system, but I find it odd that on the homepage I have a 300px gap between the bottom of the navigation with the locations listed and the top of the rest of the posts on the page, so basically the top of the white box. Is there supposed to be an animated graphic there or something? I do not have anything disabled in my browser (FF3) and all else works fine.

Sheila... I looked at it. It looks great to me in both FireFox and IE browsers. I cannot see your 300px gap that is bothering you. I am running on Windows XP OS.

That is, unless you are really asking or stating that you want the text "print & web design" to appear higher and inline with the top of your "Hoffman Graphics" text logo.

Then it would be odd to your viewpoint or desired outcome, but unnoticeable by the average viewer because they don't know what you intended. They only know what they see.

My viewpoint is: at first blush, I never would have known there to be an issue.

But, I think that is a common among artists that they see many small flaws that they consider imperfections while the viewers of the art would never pick up on those details.

Just my perception. BTW, what is your method of creation? Are you using straight html or do you use a content management system?

Howard: I'm not talking about on my profile page I'm talking about the Biznik Welcome page. Here's a link to a screen capture of what I'm seeing (using Vista & FF3). I suspect there's something that supposed to be viewed there...

Sheila... Ah yes (I clicked on your link provided in the post above) Communication can sometimes be a bugger, huh?

I do not get that blank space when viewing the Welcome page. It has a banner ad promoting VIP membership, so it must be something in your browser that is not rendering it.

You may want to report it to Biznik. ...Howard

Thanks Howard. I went in to my Ad Blocker and allowed that ad. Surely someone from Biznik monitor this thread and know about it without my reporting it.

    Sheila,

We do monitor this thread and I did see your message today. In fact, I had crafted a response to you several hours ago, but apparently missed the 'Post' button.

I have researched the problem and it is related to Vista specific ad blocker functionality. The problem does not occur on Windows 7 or XP. Unfortunately, we have little control over Microsoft's over zealous policies related to blocking HTML divs with background images.

Thanks Andrew. No problem. I just thought you'd want to know. I get so frustrated with MS's HTML policies when I'm trying to craft HTML emails that will be read correctly in Outlook. So I completely understand. Have a great weekend and thanks for all you do to make Biznik work so well.
