Oh. I see now how I got locked out when I was replying to your reply. You geeks are so powerful! :-)

Here's what I was trying to say. It'll be a little out of context, but I'm sure you'll grok.

About the mis-click and subsequent lost message--I'm slowly learning that composing in a text editor and then pasting into my online posts, well, that's probably the wisest approach for all my web writing.

About the display of posts on member profiles, yes I am talking about the ones on a member's profile under the Posts tab. And, I don't know so much about how many would be ideal--Does it need to be a fixed number of posts? Or can you could display them based on how much can load in X amount of time, and then page through for any amount over that? I super like that I can now visit a member's profile and see in one fell swoop what kinds of Biz Talking someone does. Thanks.

When I did a search to find myself on biznik (always looking to find myself whereever) the message said it could not find me.

love everything else about the look and info.

Hi Judith, Since you're located in Bellingham, you do not come up in the results for members within 50 miles of Seattle. So you will need to either change your primary city to Bellingham, or make the search radius wider than 50 miles, to find yourself in the directory. Here's a link to an FAQ that explains how to set your city, if you have questions: http://biznik.com/help/local_communities

One one that explains how to use member search effectively: http://biznik.com/help/search

Thanks Leila - we'll take a look at that today and limit it to a number that makes sense and doesn't put too many in all at once. I'll post here when we've got that figured out.

It seems that there is a problem with the user profile picture. It sometimes takes me 3-4 uploads before the picture appears not distorted.

    Thanks,

Not a bug, but usability issue.

In the Recent Activity section, could you add the title of the post to the line "** made a new post to Community-wide general discussion"? The forum title is to general to be useful to gauge if I should click to view the post or not. Thanks.

I was just checking out the promotions page. Nice!

It would be great to be able to email promotions outside of Biznik as a way to draw in new members. Don't know how big of a deal that would be to add that. Also I can understand if you do not want to add an outside link to keep it just for Biznikers but they are visible to people not logged in anyway.

"Check out these unparalleld new members:"

they could be unparalleled... (members page, right column)

I would <heart> you forever if I could print out what is displayed on a Biznik page, as it is displayed, rather than on multiple pages, one (or more) for each column of the page. All my tricks fail me. Even if I convert to PDF the pages print out on and on and on.

I would very much like to be able to print out the snapshots of who is attending events. And, today I wanted to print out a member's About page to give to a client, but it prints out so "ugly".

Okay. I'll probably <heart> you forever even if you don't fix this bug, but ...

    Leila,

thanks for giving me a cool idea on how to refer more business to Bizniks! i'll keep that in mind. perhaps until they upgrade/change the way the site is sent to a printer you'll just have to resort to copy/pasting into Word or something..

Dan... On the "Members...Network Tab" and then the "referrals" subsection of that tab, the link to "view recent activity" on each of the members, does not list the appropriate member's activity BUT instead it is listing the Primary Member's activity. ...HH

leila - i've made some changes to the printing so that it should look a lot better. it's still not what i would call "pretty", but it's better.

howard, that was a bug that has been fixed.

    thanks a lot!

For some reason, my profile always lists a new message although there is no new one there. I think the problem is a referral I received which I read and followed up on, but kept there in order to remember to follow up again.

    thanks! c

When paying for an event, the "uh oh" error message appears at the top of the page, where it's effectively invisible because I'm down on the part of the page with the button I just clicked ... watching watching watching for something to happen not knowing I've erred somewhere and that's why I'm not getting the next screen.

John, the new setup for printing is a ginormous improvement. I <heart> you foreffinever.

Me again. Apparently I am avoiding housework today.

Nancy Hanauer started a conversation about overlapping events and initially I was supportive of how this can happen. But I took another look at a few things, such as how events are displayed on the calendar listing and the front page. Now I am whine-y.

My current event, which was listed before any of the other three that happen the same night, now is last in the listing.

On the front page, there's real estate for only three events--I suspect that under current design, my event won't even appear there?

    </whine>

On at least a few posts, multiple entries of the same post (3-4) at once. I've gone in and deleted such duplicates twice. Just did it on my last post to Chris's thread about his SurveyMonkey for indies.

Couldn't get the third of the proferred Biznik badges to work on my site. No graphic appeared, just text. The other two buttons work fine.

The third badge code is missing the full URL to the image.

    Where you see: <img src="/images/dingbats/biznik/businessnetworking.gif" height="31" alt="Biznik-Business Networking" width="88">

    Change to: <img src="http://www.biznik.com/images/dingbats/biznik/businessnetworking.gif" height="31" alt="Biznik-Business Networking" width="88">

Couple of glitches in the auto email to event hosts which follows up after the event.

2nd paragraph, re: the fee and number of RSVPs. Email lists names of folks rather than number.

Next paragraph says "a check in the amount of [$X] will be ..." with no number replacing X.

Description re taking attendance is a little confusing b/c it says to "drag the icon of each member into the appropriate box". But, everyone is already listed in the Attended box unless they are dragged out. Change that instruction to "drag the icon of anyone who did not attend ... " ??

(Gmail in Firefox on Mac and PC)

(Love the dragging to take attendance feature. Love the ability to add members who did not RSVP but who did attend.)

Similar but opposite to my post above, it would be nice to be able to email links to Biztalk conversations to members. Right now if I am on a Biztalk conversation I have to know the members regular non-biznik email address instead of just being able to type in their name. Would it be possible to have a drop down list of members like we have in the "Introduce to a Friend" section? Thanks!!
