Dinah, You should be able to install FireFox on your system, and that should work fine for you.

Justin, Yes, you can (see my comment above with FireFox link). Just insert standard html link tags, and you'll be all set.
FYI, we will soon be adding the same text formatting tools for comments and posts that we have already in place for article authors. So it will shortly get even easier to add links and other html to your comments.

I just saw the new video promotion addition to my profile. So AWESOME. But...it doesn't seem to work yet. I have Adobe Flash 9 installed and am working on IE 6.... I wanted to upload a video, but when I click Edit, I'm told I need to have Flash installed. So I click on "if you do, click here," and that just reloads my profile page back to the beginning.
Is the video feature not fully enabled yet?

Sorry Rachel - there was a bug on there for a few minutes immediately after we launched. It's fixed now and good to go. Go be among the first to upload a video profile!

RSS feeds:
Love the idea of being able to see who the new members are nearest to me. However, unless I did something incorrectly, the feed is giving me new members all over the country despite having my location in the feed url. (feed://biznik.com/members.rss?city=Winston+Salem&distance=50&lat=36.094801&long=-80.243423)
Have I found a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I have a blog on our Biznik page and now it quit listing our articles, instead it shows the URL to it. What am I doing wrong? When I first set it up, the blog appeared in the profile. thank!!

We'll investigate that, Jeff. Thanks for the tip.

Suzanne, I fixed your blog feed by entering in the rss feed specifically, as in: http://homeinspectionnewsletter.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss
You'll get best results when using rss over other formats on Biznik.

Andrey, if the photo is jpeg, make sure the extension is .jpeg not .jpg.
-
Posted by Dan McComb, Seattle, Washington | Apr 08, 2008
You also have to make sure you are including an extension (it's a bug we'll fix soon). Even if it's a .jpg, .png or .gif, you have to actually include that extension for it to upload.
-

Yeah, I browse to the file, select it, press open. and then press upload [extension included]
I've switched my picture over 70 times on Biznik, I don't think it's user error. ;]
I'm on Vista [that shouldn't matter], tried on other browsers, cleared my cache, logged in and out, restarted my browsers, tried uploading a .jpg instead of .png, moved the picture to my C:\ just in case there was some Vista directory sharing issue; upload path C:\AR68g.png, and still no luck.
I've also started noticing some ads that I'm able to see when I'm logged in. Those ads are for non members and/or non paying members. [Hehe I can't upgrade my account any higher!] The upgrade ad linked to http://biznik.com/members/jeremy-moss-ma . Odd...
PS: Leila! Nice picture!

I don't know why I'm running into these things... I'm like a bug [?] magnet!
I tried to checkout the sponsored ads and when I'm about to click on the ad the on mouse over it shows me the url I'm going to... I click and nothing happens... then mouse over shows [on the bottom of browser]:
http://biznik.com/click?u=http%3A//biznik.com/click%3Fu%3Dhttp%253A//www.jointcontact.com/&t=%3CIMG%20alt%3D%22Joint%20Contact%22%20src%3D%22/images/ads/250x250/joint_contact.jpg%3F1207630088%22%3E
Maybe the Javascript URL code is to blame for this problem and the link problem?
Anyone else running into strange bugs?

hey andrey -
do you have a popup blocker installed? that code you're seeing is just so we can track which links get clicked on. but since all external links get targeted to a new window, i think your popup blocker may be getting in the way.

hey there,
i am just curious if there will be a "delete all" feature soon for the messages?
i got so many at one time that i stopped deleting them... now i have like 500!!
-

Hey John, I don't have any popup blockers enabled [built into the browser or in my toolbar].
Other links that are in the signature or in the members profile to a members website opens fine. This link problem I'm running into are for advertisments only [from what I found so far].
I just retested my advertisment link problem and found that firefox has no problem with opening that link but IE does. Both browsers still get an error when I try to add a picture.
Thanks,
-Andrey

Thanks for the feedback Andrey. We'll get this fixed as soon as we can.

It's seems that .png files have been disabled. I used Adobe to save my .png as a .jpg and was able to upload the photo. Every .png file upload errors out. [Pictures that I haven't uploaded before and those that I have...]
Thanks,

This forum topic breaks frames... http://biznik.com/forums/introduce-your-bad-indie-self/topics/monavie-juice-distributor-and-craniosacral-therapist-in-bay-area in IE. Maybe its the url in the keywords block. [It works fine in FireFox]
Isn't this a MLM business?

I think the Tipster badge is not working. I have posted six tips with an average rating of 8 or more which according to the badge page should earn me that status:
Don't have the money right now for your retirement plan? File an income tax extension.
An inexpensive way to add additional phone lines to track web sites, ads, blogs, etc.
If you write an article, make it readable and not a tidal wave of type by inserting blank paragraph breaks and using bold face and italics to highlight your main points.
If you offer complementary consultations, send those who take you up on it an invoice
How to easily post a link to a web site on your Biznik posts
Free e-mail based fax service with Seattle based telephone numbers
Unfortunately, my Tipster badge does not appear under my name. I also logged out and in again in case this was due to my profile needing to be reset.

The heading for my profile isn't aligned properly. It's a little too high. Same for my logo. Doesn't seem to be a way for me to fix this on my end. Anyway to adjust this? Thanks!

Must be fun reading all these posts. :-)
I tried to send my first compliment yesterday and it went but never appeared on the Biznik's page, nor was it listed on my page that I had sent this person a compliment.
What am I doing wrong?
-
Posted by Keith Gormezano, Seattle, Washington | Apr 12, 2008
The person you send the compliment to must accept it.
Did you send it by checking the "Send Compliment" button on their profile?

Oh, that makes perfect sense. Thanks, Keith!
