Just poking around to look at new members (from the sidebar list on the Members page) and an entirely new page is opening for each member; that new page also no longer recognizes that I am already logged in.

    Firefox 2.0.0.12 Mac OS X 10.4.10

Must have been a hiccup. All better already.

Hi Dan, Wayne Bishop and I are offering a new seminar, "Introducing Twitter" on Sept 9. https://biznik.com/events/2008/9/9/introducing-twitter

Wayne created the event since he has the membership that allows RSVPs to use Biznik to pay for attendance. But he is having the same problem as before: he can't add me as a co-host. If you don't mind, can you do this for us or let us know what we can do.

    Thanks as always! Mark McLaren

I'm not getting an "add host button" when I go to edit my event to add a host, following the directions in the FAQs.

I tried using Safari and the latest Firefox on a Mac.

Yeah, see the comment above, and if you don't mind, add David Sitlani as a co-host to the event on the 25th. Thanks as always! Sarah Bitter

I've just moved this co-host bug to the top of our priority list, so it will be fixed soon now. Meanwhile, I've added David as your co-host, Sarah, and also for you too, Mark.

Just FYI - my Connector number is again going down! This is the third time it has gone in reverse now. I think I have brought in well over 60 members at this point but every once in a while instead of adding to my total number new members seem to start subtracting. It went from 22 to 21 in the last day or two. We'll see if the trend continues. Last time this happened it went down 13 before it turned around and started climbing again.

The bio at the end of my articles sometimes disappears and I have to re-enter it. Am I doing something wrong?

Me too on the bio issue!

Oh geez. Here I am again. We have to stop meeting like this!

When using the swell feature of adding an event to my Google calendar, the event times get changed to hours earlier than the actual event. I have my settings set for the same timezone as where the event occurs. Anything else I should tweak or is this a Biznik bug? thx

A minor irritation...The exclamation point "You've got mail" indicator seems to be stuck on. It keeps coming back, even after shutting down, rebooting and reopening Firefox on my Powerbook.

It would be good to be able to search for a member even if I don't know what city they live in.

  • Leila Anasazi
Posted by Leila Anasazi, Seattle, Washington | Aug 31, 2008

Kaya, uncheck the "within X miles" box below the search field, and you ought to be able to search the entire membership base.

Just posted a comment on biztalk and noticed that the italics showed up on the actual thread but did not show up on the biznik homepage where you show recently posted comments--instead it reads as asterisks. A minor issue, but maybe a symptom of something else. I know how detailed you guys are.

I am using the search feature (love the new result format) and looking for SEO. A small set of article results are presented, with the note of 5 out of 65 total.

Clicking VIEW ALL RESULTS leads me to a grand total of 3 articles ... b/c the default "sort by" category is "most popular this week".

It's not readily obvious that I have to re-sort to get all the article options. Luckily I am already caffeinated and figure out how to find more :-)

@Jason - You have to press "reply" then it will reveal two options: accept or reject.

@Karrie - we strip out all html before it's displayed on the home page, which is why you see that issue. We should really allow the bold and italic, though. Thanks for pointing that out.

@Leila - you've identified a bug that we know about and are planning to fix. Thanks!

Not really a bug but I would like to know how to get people I invite to Biznik to join within the email I send to them?? I just invited someone to join and they did. But it does not show that I invited them when I look at my profile. They probably joined from the website instead of from my email. How can we streamline that so that when you invite someone to join through email they can only do so from the link in the email??

  • Edie Pierson
Posted by Edie Pierson, Snohomish, Washington | Sep 19, 2008

Okay, now it shows I invited the member. I remember when I was invited it was confusing as to how to join. Maybe the email could be a little clearer.

    usability feature request

    Events Listing
    click on page2 or higher
    click on any event
click the "back" button (in the browser)

if there was a way the "back" button could take me back to the page I was on, rather than page1, it would make my painfully slow laptop happy not to have to reload both page1 and then the page I was just on.

    bug
cursor in the compose email "box" tends to randomly disappear

I, of course, am unable to reproduce this at the moment, but it seems like it might be related to using arrow keys to move around inside the box.

I'll try to write a better bug report when I can provide steps to reproduce the problem!

JS error when pasting word snippets into a new article

  • Anita Elder
Posted by Anita Elder, Seattle, Washington | Oct 08, 2008

I'm trying to post an article, but keep getting an error saying it's more than 1500 words..but it's only 539 words. Is there a problem or am I doing something wrong?

  • Andy Ciordia
Posted by Andy Ciordia, Charlotte, North Carolina | Oct 09, 2008

Using Safari, OSX, under articles when you go to create a link (via the GUI) it pops up a box but nothing ever loads. I loaded it in Firefox and the JS populates right but tried again in Safari and its just empty.

This forum is unmoderated, but please keep discussion courteous and not too far off topic.
