Hey Austin bizniks. We can still tell our SHINE stories right here, and post them to YouTube. Would anyone be interested in getting together to tape our own stories? We can help each other out. Click here for a list of questions
Inviting all Austin bizniks to SHINE in Seattle
SHINE is the perfect biznik immersion experience for Austin bizniks. 500+ bizniks at the largest video production house in the NW Fremont Studios making a movie about being entrepreneurs.
Watch the trailer.
If you can get your biznik butt up here, you can be in it! I'd love to meet more of you in person and help you see how big and beautiful biznik could be in Austin.
After 3 years and 10,000 members later, Seattle biznik is a juicy, fun, active, authentic community and I really want ya'll to experience that so you can build your own biznik culture in Austin. So, let's make it happen. How can you get up to Seattle on May 6th? I am pretty confident we can get people to pick you up from the airport and maybe even find you places to stay.
Anyone game? Post here or email me directly. This is one event you don't want to miss out on. It is a chance for you to see what biznik is all about and to share your story with the world. And while you are here, you will be making connections, friends, who knows where it might lead!

Here's an article with some good perspectives on telling your story with video. Useful for SHINE participants. 10 ways to drive consumer action with video
My offer is still open to help tape each other for the May 6 SHINE event, and post on YouTube. Anyone, anyone?

Rick,
This is a great idea and I suspect that not many people in Austin are reading these threads. Just post an event! It does not need to be prior do May 6th. You can do it anytime. You can do multiple events too.
We are really gearing up for SHINE up here and the energy is exciting. There was a training day for 60 interviewers which I missed due to being too busy. But I heard from Lara (biznik co-founder here in Seattle) that it was really inspiring. They watched the trailer and people in the audience were laughing with Gwen and sighing at the end in unison. What an incredible way for us all to connect.
I'd like to say that when the film is complete, we'd love to have as many Austin bizniks come up for the premiere as possible!
Let me know how I can support you in hosting a smaller SHINE or a series.
Oh, and here's the Behind the Scenes of SHINE.

SHINE was amazing. We've got to plan something like this--smaller to start--in Austin! What a hoot. Hope some of you can come up to Seattle for the premiere this summer!
