(Forwarded to me by George Fernandez, Biznik. I edited it just a bit.)

Is it possible we have more faith in our fear than we do in God?

No matter how complex life becomes at work or at home it still comes down to the basic choice. Will we place our confidence in the All-Powerful,Supreme Being and Sole Authority of the Universe or will we place greater confidence in our fears?

Although the choice is black-or-white basic, God knows it's not simple. It involves a challenging stretch and that's why God continually reminds us, "Fear not, for I am with you."

Our fear shouts "Pay no attention to the God behind the curtain; he's just another wizard from Oz, using smoke and mirrors to give you the illusion of power and grace."

Our God whispers in that still small voice, that he wants us to develop confidence in him and not in what we see or feel. He keeps the curtain drawn so we will learn to live by faith and not by sight, so we will become certain of what we hope for and sure in God, even when we cannot see how he's at work in our current circumstances. (Hebrews 11:1)

So what should we do now? Ask God to replace fear with faith. Eliminating my fear involves more than working up my courage; this is a spiritual battle that requires me to develop faith. But first I need to make a choice – Will I fear, or will I have "faith?"

Faith means you believe the truth. My behavior and business decisions are most often rooted in what I believe. When I experience fear, ask myself, "What does this fear say about what I believe in this circumstance?"

Get caught in an act of faith as this women did. --- One day a woman who had hemorrhaged for twelve years slipped behind Jesus and touched his robe, thinking he could heal her. Jesus turned – caught her at it. Then he reassured her: "Courage, daughter. You took a risk of faith, and now you're well." (Matthew 9:22 MSG)

God is for you, and he encourages you to be caught doing acts of faith. When you add faith with business, that is a definite winning combination!

Have you added faith to your life and business?

My only fear is that I might not act in faith occasionally!

Sandra, though I know you not, we are so connected. I was recently contemplating the spiritual essence of "oz"...and what some think of our Father. Your mention of a drawn curtain, reminded me of this scripture... "at that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom" Matthew 27:51 Praise be to our Christ, who lived, who died, and who was resurrected. We now can enter in to Father God’s throne room to praise and petition our heavenly Father, in the name of His Son Jesus, our bridge.

    Sandra,

This is so very true of many, but particularly for those of us who are called to leave lucrative, steady-income jobs and face the scary, eeeevil world as an entrepreneur. I have to remind myself daily that God gave me these gifts and the desire to share my story for a reason, and who am I to doubt Him?

I struggle with impatience. I think I have it figured out, so it should all come together NOW. As I scrape to pay rent, my faith dips.

I must remember that impatience is not trusting God. It's like letting go of His hand and running ahead without Him. He never leaves me, but I'm sure he winces when I fall down, like any parent would.

I let go because I fear not being in control. Like a petulant three-year-old I want to do it all by myself! Yet, I know from experience that as soon as I try to take over, I lose sight of what God wants for me, which is far better than anything I could do for myself.

Isn't it funny how our fear gets us into more scary situations?
