Dan... Will we eventually have a link listing on our personal profiles of the groups we administer and belong to? ...Howard
Everyone you invite can participate... but with a few limits
One question I've been asked is - can everyone I invite participate in my group? The answer is yes. But they will need to follow the link directly - that is, they won't be able to see Groups in the main navigation of the website until they've joined your group. Or, until the public launch, which we're planning for the beginning of next month.
Paid members of Biznik, FYI, will get Groups turned on for them Monday, March 9.

You do already - it's under a new Groups tab.
I think it makes sense to reveal a list of your groups on the main page of your profile, too. Thoughts?

Dan... Yes, I think a listing of the groups that each person is a member of appearing on one of the side columns would be useful. ...Howard

Under the Group tab on our personal profiles are sub-tabs that read "your groups" (which are the groups we belong to) and "your bookmarked groups".
I wonder if it might be a good idea also to add another sub-tab that listed the groups we administer.

Tshombe,
I hope we are doing you one better. Instead of forcing navigation through additional sub tabs (more clicks to me = harder to use), we've divided the 'Your Groups' list into sections. The first is the groups you administer. The second section contains any group in which you serve as a moderator. Finally, the third section is the list of groups in which you are a regular member.
What do you think?

Hi Andrew,
Yes, you are quite right. This is awesome and looks great.
Simple and ease-of-use are always best.
From a personal management perspective, hopefully we all will resist going crazy and becoming moderators/administrators of dozens of groups and have a completely cluttered where-is-what-I'm-looking-for "Your Groups" section.
Thanks, Andrew. You're doing great!

HI groupniks!
Um, my invitees are having a problem finding the group button, even when they join.
Help! I'm getting a bunch of "i want to join but I am confused as to what I am joining" messages since they do not have group button yet.
What should I (specifically) tell them?
Thanks for all you are doing!

Elke,
My apologies. You are definitely experiencing the limits of the beta release. For now, please tell your invitees to return to the email message they received after they have registered as a member and click the link to the group again. This will permit them to access your group and join you.
Thanks for your patience while we get this finished!
Andrew

This is why Groups was limited to a few key people at first. There are refinements we need to make, and we needed feedback from initial users.
Thanks for being a part of the conversation!

I think I may have been confused by this thread. There seems to be no problem inviting a current Biznik member - is this correct?
I used a dummy (profile hidden) account to invite. After following the link from the Biznik message to join the group, the green Groups tab appeared in the top navbar, and the gray Groups tab appeared on my profile. Easy access to the group I joined, plus any other group.
Is the problem just happening when you invite someone by email, who is not yet a Biznik member or not in your network?
