It doesn't notify me when an answer is posted (when I am the one posing the discussion question), so I decided to post a comment and click the "check to receive email when someone posts a reply" option.
Paid event under a group-How does the host get paid?
Hi There,
I have been asked by a member of my group Teach Your Talent how a paid event posted under a group gets treated? Meaning, does the host receive a check from Biznik just like they do for an event posted under the general Biznik events section?
I was also asked how to promote an event posted under a specific group to the whole Biznik community. My answer was 1) announce it to people in your immediate network 2) Announce it under BizTalk. Any additions to these ideas?
Thanks!! :) ~banu

Banu: Three questions, three answers...
ONE. Notification Bug: Thanks for the bug report about the notifications. I'll look into it.
TWO. Announcing Events: Yes. Promotion of non-Biznik events is now the responsibility of the Event Host. Emailing their Network, posting in the Biz Talk forums, posting in appropriate Group forums, and cross-posting the Event to other appropriate Groups are the best ways to get the word out.
(To cross-post an Event to more than one Group, simply go to that Event's page, and look down the right side below the map for the "Associated groups" section. Click the "Add" button, and choose which of YOUR groups you want to post this event into.)
THREE. Fee-based Events: Nothing has changed. People who RSVP through the Biznik site will be charged by Biznik, and once the event is closed (attendance taken), then we will cut a check for the Event Host. Same process as before. No changes.

Banu,
Your note regarding notification to discussion starters highlighted an oversight on my part. My apologies. I've enabled the 'Monitor this discussion' check box and set the default to 'notify' you when someone makes a comment in any discussion you start. I hope this helps!
Andrew
