Subscribe to Groups Group - Discussion Same event in multiple places

Hey there! I see an event that appears on the main events page or under another group gets posted under my Teach Your Talent group but even if it has several RSVPs on its other location, those numbers don't carry. Is there a way to fix that? Are you guys working on posting an event in multiple places at the same time- for visibility purposes?

Thanks! ~banu

Can you specify which event you're referring to, Banu? I think what you're seeing is someone who posted the same event multiple times, which is really not the correct way to handle it. You should only ever post an event in one group, and if it meets Biznik's guidelines, it will also appear on the main events page after it has been approved. Then, to cross promote it in other groups, under the way we're currently set up, you'd need to post a discussion with a link to your event, rather than create a new event that duplicates the original one.

We're considering making it possible to post the same event in multiple groups. Sounds like you're voting for that?

How do you create a hyperlink in a Biznik comment or e-mail, for example to link to an event as you suggest above? I've gotten messages from people with links to groups, events, etc., but I haven't been able to figure out how they did it!

Annika, We recently deployed a change to the so which makes anything beginning with www or http:// automatically into a clickable link. Messages you still have to add html links or use markdown syntax.

    Example: www.facebook.com.

Wow, Dan. That's a great help to people. I wondered about that when I noticed the little help guide with the stars and brackets went missing!

Annika, if you want certain text hyperlinked, this is a helpful guide.

Dan, Lori Richardson mentioned something akin to what I think Banu is referring.

Lori said that she posted an event in the group she is administering and it appeared in someone else's group (though she's also a member of that group).

I asked her if she'd accidentally posted to the incorrect group, and she said she hadn't.

Sorry, I forgot about posting this question here. :)

Dan, my answer to your question, "...making it possible to post the same event in multiple groups. Sounds like you're voting for that? " is YES! This way there is only one RSVP sheet and there won't be an overload.

I lvoe all this new stuff! Yaay, you guys rock!!! :)
