Future Focus Game Hi I’m Rudy Barroso and I’m 15 years old and my sister and I have created the first and effective board game that teaches families about diabetes in a fun entertaining way called Future Focus. Future Focus is an educational tool that consecrates people to fully comprehend the terminology for both type1 and type 2 diabetes. This game has been used to educate newly diagnosed diabetics at hospitals all over the World. Future Focus is the #1 diabetic educational tool that is recommended by doctors all over the United States. My sister is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Youth Ambassador and we both publicly speak in large conventions to help advertise our game. Approximately 2,200 people in the United States are diagnosed with diabetes every day. Diabetes and related complications accounts for about 190,000 deaths a year. The total annual economic cost of diabetes in 2007 was estimated to be $174 billion. Diabetes is the primary cause of blindness for people over age 20. Notwithstanding, that this disease can be prevented at an early stage by having Future Focus in their homes or schools when people are still children. If Future Focus was to be a required educational aspect in School Districts all over the United States, there is no doubt that these statistics will drastically decrease. Future Focus has already saved the lives of many children and has prevented diabetes for over a 1,000 children today. We are at the point of completely redesigning the board game so that a sponsor can advertise their products. We believe that in order for our product to impact society, we need sponsors. Doctors have proven the fact that our game has diagnosed and prevented diabetes for countless patients’ nation wide. There is approximately 26 million people living with diabetes, we can supply an aggressive exertion in preventing diabetes for the next generation.
