Hello Vibrant Ladies! “There are secrets to happiness, and dance is one of them!” I am Patricia Auch, a belly dance instructor and performer. I get to bring joy into my life and the life of other women through a dance form that celebrates our femininity! My quest for cultural authenticity has taken me beyond belly dance to the many vibrant folkloric dances. It has taken me to Egypt, Lebanon, and Morocco and developed a deep respect for the Arab culture. It is exhilarating sharing this knowledge in my dance classes and in lecture-demonstrations to school students and community groups. It is so exciting to see doors openadults and students seeing a beautiful side of the Arab world, and women seeing a beautiful side of themselves!

I have been to one Power Chicks event and am really looking forward to more. I am fairly new to Seattle area, so this will be a great way to connect to my new community.

I'm thrilled to be in such amazing company. Reading about the women in Power Chicks inspires me.

Not only have I "been there, done that", I'm also a certified life coach and family life educator. I understand the developmental needs of children going through major family transitions. My clients work with me in small groups or 1:1, in person or over the phone/internet.

Although I am a long ways from Seattle, I am very excited to network with the many talented women in this group.

    Hello Power Chicks!

I am brand new to biznik, and am so happy to have found this group. My name is Maresa Lennebacker, and I am a junior at the University of Washington.

Currently, with four other students, I am working on a business which provides small loans to small businesses in Ghana (micro-credit). These loans go to 90% women, as money given to women seems to generate the most overall benefit for an entire family.

Before we all leave for Ghana in the summer, we will be hosting a number of fundraisers. The first will have african food, dance, and music. All money we raise will go directly to our loan fund.

If any of you ladies are interested in this, please let me know! More information to come on our fundraisers too. We are trying to gauge what community interest will be in attending.

    Thank you!

    Maresa

    Hello Power Chicks!

My name is Maresa, I am a junior at the University of Washington and brand new to Biznik. With a group of four other students, I am working to expand Lumana Credit, a micro-credit lending institution that gives small loans to small businesses in Ghana, Africa.

Most of our loans are provided to women, and the economic benefits they provide benefit entire families, and facilitate their ability to get out of poverty. We also provide basic business skills and finance training for our clients.

Prior to our departure for Ghana in the summer we will be hosting a number of fundraisers. Our first will feature African music, dance, and food. We are looking to see what community interest is in our cause. I anticipate creating an event on biznik as well. 100% of proceeds will go to our loan fund. If you want to get involved and support the cause, I would love to collaborate with other women who wish to empower women!

    Thank you!

Hi ladies, I am a professional organizer and owner of Bee Royally Organized.

I organize Disaster Kits and maintain expiration dates in them. Kits are for individuals, families, small offices, cars, pets, seniors, and the disabled. Each calls for a different plan and different kits.

I also help my clients feel less like servants and more like royalty in their home or office. I love seeing the change in my clients spaces after our organizing sessions but even more, I love seeing the change in my clients.

It will be nice to start meeting some of you.

    Hello Power Chicks!

I am off into the world of social media and learning how to grow my business online. Women are such strong referral partners and I look forward to learning, sharing, and maybe meeting some of you at local Seattle-area events.

My name is Trina Craig and I am the owner of Custom Scrapbooks by Trina. I create fabulous, one-of-a-kind scrapbooks for women who don't have the time or inclination to make scrapbook albums for themselves or to give as gifts.

After more than 20 years in publishing as a graphic designer and art director, I found it was time for a change. I turned to one of my passions--scrapbooking and creating mini works of art out of our everyday experiences.

My website is still under construction (its "due date" is mid- to late-June), but it is up and running with limited text and art.

Thank you Lynn! You are on top of things.

Hi Lynn and fellow chicks! Thanks for much for this forum. As a pretty strong personality it's a relief to find someone willing to use the word power in relation to women. My background is intense corporate life so running my own show came as something of a welcome challenge...really sink my teeth into.

Naturally it's important to share this experience with others who have made similar life transitions. I hope to get to know you all. Come join me on a power walk and talk on a Friday in Bellingham. (7:30am Woods on Railraod) Susan

Hey Power Chicks..what a cool name for a group. I am a former police officer and now a licensed private investigator. My company, Gold Shield Legal Investigation, Inc. is decided to promoting safety in the workplace and at home by providing professional pre-employment and pre-date background checks.
Pre-employment screening protects a company from a whole list of disastrous, but hiring the wrong company to do the screening can be just as dangerous by leaving you vulnerable to law suits. Gold Shield is a CRA what protects it's clients and applicant's rights and privacy. Of course background screening should not be left at the office, what about when you are making a personal hiring decision? How about meeting a guy on line? These dating web sites do not conduct background screening, your safety is left up to you. It is my strong belief that no woman should ever be a victim, and a Gold Shield is here to help.

Hi! My name is Diana Hathaway Timmons. I was so thrilled to discover Power Chicks (actually, Power Chicks discovered me first!) I so look forward to being part of the group. I've enjoyed reading about my fellow Chicks and the amazing things they're doing.

I'm an author, real estate marketing writer/consultant, and interior designer. I wrote a book "Sell Your Home Without Losing Your Zen", and am working on the next one -- this time for buyers! I'm passionate about all things "home!" You know those HGTV shows with the real estate experts that walk through a home and tell the sellers what needs to be done? Well that's what I do (but I'm waaaay nicer!)
