Client Attraction
Topic for discussion:
1. What is your primary method (or methods) of finding and attracting clients?
- Have you altered or changed strategies because of the changes in the economy?
I'll start:
1) I am experimenting with different strategies myself. Two years ago, I did mainly group work through workshops, and a one-time class was my primary marketing tool.
Last year, I used a "Free Sessions that Sell" formula based on the one that Christian Mickelson teaches, as well as workshops, both free and paid.
In the last 6 months, my writing (articles and blog) have helped to attract some clients, also events I have hosted through Biznik. I also gained a client through some press coverage I received and a subsequent evening workshop I put on.
This year I stopped offering my sample sessions for free but sometimes run introductory session specials. I have also used workshops very intentionally to build my mailing list and testimonials through feedback forms at my biznik events.
2) In response to the fears and perceptions around the economy and people's personal finances in general, I have allowed clients to work with me a month at a time, and have also resumed a couple of mutually beneficial barters.
I'm still "finding my way," testing and trying. Please share how you are attracting your clients!
