Group Business
We discussed our “mission statement” and ground rules.
We agreed that:
• We think of business as a personal growth path. (Like relationships are a personal growth path, or having a child, etc).
• It’s important that the group supports us in growing the way we want to grow – so, not necessarily “bigger”, but in service of our true goals or happiness.
• Safety is important in the group, i.e. confidentiality and non-judgment, which fosters openness and authenticity.
• We want to come to consensus on decisions, especially in regards to new members.
• In the case of conflict, we want people to bring things to the group so we can deal with it openly.
• We want to bring things up in the present moment if possible (rather than stew on them, etc).
• For new members, our process will be to invite them to a meeting and have them “jump in” during the first hour and a half, and then leave so we can discuss it during the last half hour.
Resources
(here are some resources shared from the individual turn portion of the meeting)
Amanda was asking about newsletters, and Aubrie recommended talking to Michele Gurule, a freelance writer http://biznik.com/members/michelle-gurule
Emma mentioned various newsletter services like http://www.cooleremail.com and http://www.constantcontact.com. Aubrie mentioned http://www.myemma.com (another newsletter program).
Aubrie was talking about self-care and Emma recommended an exercise around “Enough” from the free Thrive Workbook from Extraordinary Women Thrive: http://www.extraordinarywomenthrive.com

Thanks Emma!
E.B.--we were wondering if you'd like to host next time at your yoga studio? If not, Aubrie has offered her home office for our next meeting. What do you think?
