Ethics and social media
Something which fascinates me about the development of social media is how the developers of the technology don’t fully consider the ethical ramifications and consequences of the technology they develop. Lets use Foursquare as an example. In foursquare you can check in and tell people where you are. You even get virtual awards as incentives for doing so. Businesses can use foursquare too, as a way of rewarding people who check in, by offering a discount on products. Looks good so far right?
