Can anyone recommend a good WordPress contact form plug in? I tried one called cforms but encounter a bunch of problems.

Hi Todd, cforms is actually one of the best I have found. It is highly customizable, and has some really great features. Wonder what trouble you had?? It has worked great on several recent webistes I have done.

One thing I found is with one client I did and continue to have issues. And it's all on the server end of things. When you submit the form, it just hangs there... Have tried solving the problem with the server but no luck.

There are a few more on wordpress.org that are simpler forms. And ithemes Flex theme as a page already set up for contact.

    Hope this helps...

Hi Bob, there was no problem getting the cforms loaded in the ftp files. It did show up in the WordPress intalled plugins. But, it wouldn't activate.

I decided to delete it from the ftp files and it took hours. I received non-stop error messages durring the deleting process "error, file cannot be found". After a few hours the only way to stop the process was through the Vista task manager. When I logged back into the ftp files I was more than delighted to find the files were infact gone. BTW, I'm using Bluehost.

Then when booting up my computer this morning I got a Vista message that it was blocking a download from cforms.

Not sure I want to risk all that pain again, hence work prefer something with a little less horse-power!

mmmm, very odd! I have a few clients who have used Bluehost and no problems with cforms yet. Will be doing an install on bluehost with cforms in the next few days, again, so will let you know how that goes...

I'll try it again. Maybe the file didn't download completely.

I'm 99% there! Instead of uploading directly into the ftp files, I uploaded through the Dashboard/Plugin section. Extremely fast. A fairly intutive plugin.

Just one task left to accomplish. The form isn't sending emails to me. The admin email address in cforms is correct. Any ideas?

The form finally appeared in my inbox. Any ideas on why it would take nearly an hour to show up?

That is still really strange. No idea why it took this long to show up, especially having uploaded it via FTP.

Another form plugin I have heard some good things about is Contact Form 7. It's for simpler forms, but you may want to look into that one as well.

Might try wufoo.com. It might work for you. I use them with my website for contacts and such. Like them a lot.
