Subscribe to WordPress Chatter - Discussion Tables plugin?

Does anyone know of a WP table plugin that will perfectly line up data in columns and rows?

The few I've looked at on WordPress.org aren't compatable with WP 2.8

Hi Tom, off the top of my head I don't know one that's been updated...the trials and tribulations that come with each WP update!

I see that you need rows and columns. If you just need columns, one that I have used "magazine columns" works pretty good and is compatible with 2.8.

Thanks Bob. I'll give it a try and let you know how it works.

Yes, this is an AMAZING plugin that not only allows you to create tables, it in essence gives you wysiwyg functionality!

Thanks for sharing that Dvorah. Looks like it is only good up to 2.6. Have you had luck with it on the newer versions?

I have it on lots of Pre 2.8 sites.

Just went into a new site and tested it out on a 2.8 site and it seems to work fine.

I think this might be an update page. WP only offers up to version 2.5 of the PLUGIN but the author has 2.64 http://www.fckeditor.net/

Yeah, I will need to see how that one works as well. I do see WordPress does have it for version 2.62 I think the 2.5 is the version of the plugin.

Just a note on plugins. When I search for plugins, I normally don't even mess with the one's that aren't kept updated for a few reasons.

    • It is best practice to keep WordPress sites up-to-date as they are always improving it, and if you get too far behind in versions, updating can be a nightmare.

    • Although a plugin that has not been updated may work with your site and theme, again, down the road if you choose to change themes, it can also create havoc.

    • And as I have mentioned in other articles, don't update WP as soon as it's out...give it some time and let the bugs get worked out.

And most important, when updating, backup! and deactivate all plugins.
