Subscribe to WordPress Chatter - Discussion Wordpress E-Commerce

Hi Bob, thanks for the email update re: woocommerce.

Since I create my own themes I prefer this plugin for ecommerce: http://tribulant.com/plugins/view/10/wordpress-shopping-cart-plugin.

It is not free but it is very well supported and comprehensive. I have been doing ecommerce sites for 8 years and needed something that allowed for real time USPS integration, Authorize.net PayPal and PayPal Pro among other things. I used to use Joomla! / virtuemart but it is so much less user friendly for the website owner.

Now that we have this plugin from Tribulant I am migrating my clients away from Joomla/VM into a wordpress solution and they love it!

Yes, I agree that is a good plugin and makes sense for what you are doing..

And there are a few free one's that work okay for smaller needs regarding e-commerce.

I think WooCommerce will be a nice option for smaller e-commerce sites and also for DIY'ers.

Personally I feel WordPress still has some challenges when it comes to large ecommerce sites and it's great to know your experience in them as a resource.
