Biznik allows walk-ins, simply because it's impossible for it to be policed, but walk-ins are strongly discouraged.
The burden of responsibility to get payment from a walk-in, falls on the host. Event hosts keep 100% of the fee they set. We simply charge $5 transaction fee onto each reservation. If an event host really wants to be fair, they'll either charge the walk-in $5 less than the listed fee, or tell Biznik of the walk-in so we can withhold $5 from the collected fees sent to the host after the event.
The choice of requiring cash or check, or an instant online payment on a laptop connected to the internet, is up to the event host. The RSVP window on an event remains open until the event is scheduled to be over. If the event hosts is more lenient they may direct the walk-in to Biznik's secure payment form at https://biznik.com/orders/blank to enter a payment with a credit card. There's no guarantee that the walk-in will actually go to the online payment form after the event, or that their card will be accepted. There is also no guarantee that a client to whom you've sent an invoice after services rendered, will pay it.
If the walk-in pays the gross fee (including the $5 transaction fee) and the event host doesn't inform Biznik, Biznik will probably never find out. It's an honor system. The attendance tool includes a way for event hosts to manually enter the names of any walk-ins who did not pre-register. Some event hosts prefer not to mark a walk-in as attended until they confirm that the payment has cleared. The choice is yours.
Biznik requires the event host to give notice of a walk-in needing to pay online, within 12 hours of the end of the event. Online payments for walk-ins must be made within 24 hours of the event close because checks for the amount collected for the event host are cut at that time.
