Singer, songwriter, keyboard player, and guitarist Alek Vila started exploring music in his early teens with a budget model Casio synthesizer and a passion for 80s alternative music. Alek counts among his early influences; Howard Jones, Depeche Mode, The Cure, INXS, Duran Duran, U2, Tears for Fears, Peter Gabriel, and dozens more.

With countless hours of listening behind (and ahead) of him, Alek has enjoyed music from every angle, including a brief exploit in scoring for the film industry in the beginning of his career. Alek is a self-taught musician. He is also a self-made recording artist, having produced his own debut album in 1999 (Love in Color). Tracks from this debut were some of the first indie artist tracks to receive airplay on XM Satellite Radio's Unsigned Artists Channel.

In 2003, Alek migrated down under to study jazz piano improvisation for the first time in his life. He attended the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, Australia for approximately six months (before finances caught up with him). Alek moved to Seattle to find a home for his music and earn a living.

Alek is currently in pre-production on his second album. This follows several years of intense study of the guitar and a re-awakening of his songwriting muse. Producer Peter Fosso is onboard.
