Losing a child (whether an infant or older child), it is a terrible thing. Often times we are at a loss of what we can do or say when someone we care for is faced with this tragedy.

Because I have experienced the pain of loosing our own infant daugther, I have created artwork, which I hope, will bring comfort and encouragement for those mothers, fathers and grandparents who are dealing with the loss of a child whether through stillbirth, death after birth, SIDS, miscarriage, or abortion. My prayer is simply that God would use my drawing 'Safe in the Arms of Jesus' to enable you to find comfort and grace through visualization of Jesus holding your child.

I have been drawing in pencil for many years now, but following the death of our first daughter, Grace, God has also given me a strong desire to use my drawings to glorify Him and to encourage, inspire, challenge and motivate other mothers in our awesome and divinely ordained role of motherhood. My goal is for the viewer (the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, etc.) to get a glimpse through my drawings of the eternal impact you can have on the precious child that God has given you.

I also have been speaking for women's groups - sharing the stories behind the artwork. I candidly share the journey that helped birth each of the pieces of art and transparently disclose what God has been and is teaching me both through the difficult times as well as the humorous times as a wife and mother. My goal is to encourage and help each woman see and realize that they too are a work in progress - 'becoming a masterpiece'.

Alice began Artistic Memories by Alice drawing portraits of children and home. But after the death of her infant daughter Grace in 1996, God has given Alice a twofold desire--a mission: 1) to use her artwork and story to comfort to parents who have experienced the loss of a child and 2) to encourage, challenge, and inspire women to become women that love God with all their heart. Alice is married to her best friend David, who is a pastor in Tremont, IL. They have four sons and two daughters (through adoption) besides Grace.
Over the years God has opened some interesting doors and unique opportunities for Alice in ministry. She regularly displays her artwork in convention style settings such as Hearts at Home. Each trip and speaking engagement provides a challenge in ministering to the hearts of women in need. She uses her art as visuals to further encourage, challenge, motivate, and inspire women in becoming the masterpieces God intends - uniquely and wonderfully made.
