Outstanding event last night. Chris and Beth presented general concepts of 'value-based pricing' and followed those up with excellent examples of how it works for different industries. I wasn't expecting this approach to pricing to work for many of the things I do, but after the presentation, I think there's little for which it wouldn't work.
The big take-away for me is rethinking the value of what I do, rather than the rate I charge for my work. What's exciting about this realignment is that when a client defines the value of their project for themselves, (in discussions/negotiations with me about their project), they are more invested in its success than they would have been before. Half of my job is done!
