  • is the website working?

    So, I decided months ago to create my own website for my floral design business, and I wonder if it is "working". I see I am getting hits, quite a few in fact, but I am not seeing those hits necessarily translate into business. Is there something about my website that is turning people off? Is it too dark? Not enough text? I would really love to get some impressions from other small business owners. Anyone who has a second to take a look...I would certainly be willing to return the favor in any reasonable way!

  • yahoo sitebuilder

    Has anyone used yahoo sitebuilder to design their own website? I did, and have had mostly success (surprisingly, because I am not that great with the computer). My question is in regards to adding background sound. Does anyone know how to do this? Yahoo live help has been less than ideal. Thanks for reading! Amoreena

  • how much should I do myself?

    I am inherently a do-it-yourself type person, and starting up my new floral design business, I am finding it difficult to determine when to hire out and when to do something myself. My big question comes about when dealing with print. I want to design some flyers that I will be posting in local businesses to advertise my services, and I am wondering if I should hire someone to design them for me, so that they look professional, or if I should just run within my budget and complete the project myself. I have designed something that I think will work, it doesn't look too cheap-it's just simple. I am such a new company (since July 1st), that I don't want to let me growing debt continue to stress me out...which is why I am trying to do so much on my own. I also don't want to lose credibility by having something created by me, with my business name on it, that looks less than professional. When it comes to print, I had my business logo and cards designed by someone else...but I wonder about just a simple flyer. Should I just bite the bullet and pay to have it done?

  • Happy Rainy Afternoon!

    I just signed up for Biznik, and I am hoping I will be able to meet some great new people! I am the owner of a small, floral design studio located in beautiful Ballard. I take my inspiration from the wonders of our natural landscapes, and I love the chance to really use imagination to create pieces of living art. I would love to be able to design flowers for any upcoming biznik events. I'm happy to donate my time in order to get my name out there and further my contacts. Thanks!
