  • Any tips for developing a business partnership with mulitiple people?

A group of us are going to be running a business together and I am wondering if anyone has done this - there are 6 of us. Pitfalls? Tips? Also, if anyone has been involved with a co-op style business, I'd love to hear about that as well.

  • Have you ever run a workshop series?

If so, how'd it go? I'm considering running a 2 or 3 part workshop series and just want to hear from folks who've done this to see if it's worth my time and energy. Did people sign up? Did they come?

  • Emergency Assistance for Self Employed people? Help!

I have a friend who is also self-employed (with no dependents) and recently suffered an injury which required a visit to the ER, at a time when her business was already quite slow.

The deductible of her catastrophic insurance had not been fulfilled yet, so she is looking into a financial assistance program at the hospital to address the ER bill but has been told she'll need to find a specialist to follow up with during her recovery.

The injury is affecting her ability to find temp work to hold her over until business picks up, as well.

I was wondering if anyone in Biznik has been through this and is aware of any programs which help out self-employed professions who are in a bind and need to cover ongoing medical expenses, rent, utilities etc.

Are there any sort of disability benefits through the state for self-employed people, etc?? Thanks much!

  • Is anyone using animations as part of their marketing?

I'm wondering how this is working for those of you who have used this viral marketing technique. I'm considering trying it out but want and need more information.

The idea is to create a one minute animated story that connects to my business. This story then gets put on YouTube, on my site and sent around in emails because it is so very fabu.

  • Mosaic Coffeehouse needs us!

Hey! Mosaic is struggling and needs us to spend some time there! If you haven't been in its a quiet place to work, free wi-fi and even better, pay what you will for good coffee and food.

They also have a room for events, which can be free, but really, we should make a donation for the space. I pay $20 an hour, same as Phinney Neighborhood Center.

Mosaic Coffeehouse, 4401 2nd Ave NE Seattle, WA 98105 Behind Dick's in Wallingford
