Hacking thru Browsers Left Open?

Hi-

Someone I know is concerned about leaving her browser open longer than necessary, as in when she is not using it, because she is concerned about being hacked into, identity theft, viruses, etc.

Is this a valid concern? This thought has never even crossed my mind. I leave my browser open all day sometimes so I don't have to log back into all my sites, etc.

If this IS a concern, is there a way leave your browser open and not be in danger of this? What a pain to have to log in to my various sites multiple times per day. Blerg.

Google Filtering Sites for China

Does anyone know anything beyond 2006 regarding Google's China search engine and the filtering of a list of sites like various news sites, save tibet, etc.?

When I did a search, the latest one said they now allow topics such as beer and jokes. http://www.news.com/Google-fixes-China-search-bugs/2100-1028_3-6032118.html

I know this has been going on for awhile but I just found out about it. I'm really disappointed to find this out, being such an avid google user but if i have to switch everything over to boycott Google, I will. I don't believe in the censorship that is going on.

The next question is: So what search engine is not participating in this censorship? Apparently, Yahoo and Microsoft were/are.

Now I have to go research all the services I am using to see if any of them are participating or owned by such in this censoring process.

argh!

Some of you may know of our lovely Krisha CatZen, owner and instructor of Pole for the Soul....I am going to be hosting a pole dancing party and have space for about 5 of you lovely ladies who want to get your diva on. You'll learn a few pole tricks, get your diva on and have a great time in the company of a group of 10 total, women only.

This will be a Friday or Saturday evening event, coming up in November. Right now, I'm taking names for interested peeps. First come, first serve. Only got space for 5..or more if a few of my friends don't want to come.

Heavy Art Installation Experience/Recomendations??

we have acquired an authentic wagon wheel for the Austin Cantina. its super duper heavy and we need to hang it from the ceiling or mount it on the wall.

i have never installed an art piece as heavy as this and we certainly want to do in the best way possibly for safety and aesthetics.

i am also interested in contracting out this project.

anybody have any experience in this department or know someone who does?

wow! we did it! Jefe Birkner (one of our own) is open for biz tonite! grande opening is tomorrow nite.

i'll be down here for another hour or so. the food is delish. the drinks - oh my god!

all the interiors turned out great - lots of long hours. -whew! graphics great and website to be live soon.

Looks like I am expanding my network into the LA area, as my sweetie lives in Camarillo, just north of there. Figure I might as well do some business while down there every other month or so.

Haven't noticed much Biznik social activity down there so I thought I'd initiate a happy hour for early September.

What I don't know is where the heck is a good location to meet? and Is there enough interest for me to do this?

noticed we have a few seamstresses here but not necessarily oriented for interior decor.

am looking to create an on-going connection with someone who can do custom curtains and other such things for interiors.

i am now full fledged in the challenge of balancing time between multiple clients and developing my own business.

how do you do it? set amount of time per day for each client and yourself? depends on urgency of client need or deadline?

and how to make sure i spend time on my own business too so that when all is said and done with clients, i have more work lined up.

Can i deduct my meal costs from going to coffee houses if i am using that as my office space, so to speak?

If I use images of my home as decor examples in my portfolio, can I deduct the costs of the supplies and furnishings, etc. that i use to decorate it?
