I am a bodyworker -- and, as such, I offer therapeutic massage, shiatsu, BodyTalk and Reiki. I own my own business, and work in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood (close to Ballard). My space is a tranquil sanctuary which gives you the space to relax, release blocked energy and emotion, and heal.

I like to create! I find the process of offering bodywork to be a creative process with every session being different, and it is truly a joy to work with each person collaboratively, to establish what that person needs.

Other creative outlets include writing, both fiction and non-fiction, and knitting.

Andrea has worked in healthcare since the early 90's, starting her career as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist. She has extensive experience working with a range of children with disabilities, particularly children with learning difficulties.

In 1997 Andrea began to understand the power of energy work when she studied Reiki 1 and 2. Following her Reiki training in 1997, Andrea wanted more experience in working with energy, so she embarked on a three year course of study in Shiatsu in the UK. Her style is based on Zen Shiatsu, and treatments can have a profound impact emotionally and physically, while enabling deep relaxation, and pain-free.

After moving to Seattle six years ago Andrea began regularly receiving BodyTalk, and it became an integral part of her personal growth. She realized resistance was useless - she was destined to become a BodyTalk Practitioner. After working through her own personal terrain, in 2004 she studied Module 1 and 2, then Module 3 in 2007, and Module 4(7) in late 2007 (imminently, in November!) In early 2007 Andrea became a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner, and she has watched as more and more of her clients have become BodyTalk clients.

From 2001-2004, Andrea returned to Reiki and studied with two great teachers: Eileen Dey and Suryo Gardner, who both provided her with a solid foundation in Reiki. She went on to become a Reiki Master in 2004 through the Reiki Training Program with Eileen Dey. Reiki continues to be the bricks and mortar of her practice.

More recently, in 2005 Andrea began a 12 month massage therapy course at Brenneke School of Massage, and she found that this course brought her full circle, reconnecting her with her Occupational Therapy roots. The combination of skills from both professions gives her a great skill set to deal with complex health issues including neck and back pain and specific injuries.
