  • How do you keep the ball rolling?

As a designer, my client process is a bit more complex. There's the estimate stage, the design stage with several approvals needed, and then the programming stage (if it's a website or other digital piece) before billing and follow-ups.

Every once in a while, a client gets caught up with their own business or personal life and the process comes to a halt. Email and phone call check-ins don't seem to work to get the ball rolling again.

My question is, have you ever experienced this and what have you done to get the process moving? More importantly, how can this be avoided all together? Thanks for reading.

  • Asking for Referrals...

I've decided I'd like to start asking my clients to refer me. I'm a strong believer that your best sales team are those clients that have worked with you and have had a positive experience.

Does anyone have ideas on how to ask for referrals without coming right out and saying it? I feel like that comes across as too bold.

I've run refer-a-friend promos before without much of a result. I also keep a short blip about appreciating referrals in my email signature. Any other tried-and-true ideas? Thanks!

  • What Are You Looking For?

Welcome Twin Cities professionals! I thought there was a need for a Biznik group dedicated to Twin Cities locals who have started their own businesses. What benefits would you like to see from joining this group? Lots of posted articles from various members? Networking events? Thanks for sharing!
