I use word of mouth, more than anything, asking my patients if their companies ever have 'brown bag' presentations. I have a listing on my website under 'Media' of all the companies I have spoken at. I direct people here as a reference list, as well as offer testimonials for my talks. I also send out a note to my list-serve and make a note on the latest topic I am speaking on.
I used to do these talks for free and now I charge $75 for the hour. Like Margit, I also collect names for a drawing and have a sign up sheet.
I am also considering taping my talks for sale, as a download, on my website. I will offer a handout for free, with a 30 second video intro and then have the talk download for fee. I thought of this as a type of calling card, to offer a brief intro to my speaking skills and topic to interested parties.
