What Angela does

I love telling stories. Whether I'm writing an article about mountain biking in Turkey, a mission statement for a technical clothing company or web content for a graphic design business, my goal is to create copy that clearly and vividly communicates information about an experience, client or product.

I've spent years assessing the creative power and efficacy of words. I started my freelance writing business, Scribal Productions, in 2001 as an exciting side project to my career as a writing instructor and lecturer at the University of Washington, where I earned a PhD in medieval literature. Since that time I have focused on writing travel stories, editorials and marketing-driven content for outdoor sports companies and publications. Now I enjoy working with words for a range of clients.

What Angela does best

What I do best is write and edit marketing-driven content for Web and print. I create mission statements, company bios and branding messages for company Web sites. I write engaging product descriptions for dealer brochures and consumer catalogs, and I have strong experience transforming technical jargon into plain English. I have special expertise in outdoor sports industries and publications.

What does Angela need?

I'm looking for new clients and markets. I would like to connect with, work with and learn from people in marketing, content writing and publishing. I would love to meet other writers to share experiences and strategies, including strategies for pitching stories to new publications.
