January 15th: Chateau at Bothell Landing's Frederick & Nelson Reminiscence Tea

On Thursday, January 15th at 2:00pm Ann will be a featured presenter for the Chateau at Bothell Landing's Frederick & Nelson Reminiscence Tea. Pushed back because of inclement weather in December, this much-awaited holiday tea and book signing with residents will take place at the Chateau (floor B1) on Thursday, January 15 at 2 pm. Ann is delighted to come read passages of her book, and will invite others to share memories themselves. Senior Citizens ranging from their 60s to 100s will recall the glory days of a true Seattle landmark in an open-mike setting.

The event is open to the public. Former bakers from the famous Frederick & Nelson tea room will supply their famous coconut cake. A former F&N president and other employees including Frango candy makers and a one-time manager of the Tearoom have indicated they will attend. Adam Conley, Chateau Retirement Communities Communications Director, and at 32 one of the youngest generation to fondly remember Frederick & Nelson, coordinated the event and will bring his collection of vintage F&N memorabilia, including a doorman’s cap, for display. Guests are encouraged to bring Santa photos and memories, and come have a good time! For more information call Adam at 425.488.2400 ext 230.

    My aunt, Anita Winters, my Father's sister will be 100 end of March. She is also the retired assistant fine jewelry buyer for all five F&N stores for many many years. I am bringing her tomorrow, Lord willing.

    Ann - It would be wonderful to meet your aunt...what wonderful stories she must have. I hope you are both able to attend. Has she gone to the F&N RFQ (Retired, Fired, Quit) Club Luncheons? I was taken to the Holiday one by Lamont McDonald (the inventor of the Frango mint machine) and it was great.     You have to see Ann in her F & N finery, she embodies the store. I urge everyone to support this book. Ann tells the story in a very forthright manner and hightlights all the wonders of what was a great landmark of taste in Seattle. These events are priceless.
