Dare to Care Enterprises Inc. is a division of Sunshine Express Health Care Consulting, LLC. Barbara is a registered nurse with over 32 years experience of innovative and effective leadership in the long-term care industry. Positions that she has held include Administrator, nurse manager, Director of nursing, staff development/infection control and MDS coordinator in skilled nursing facilities. Barbara has been credited with developing mock survey tools, risk/quality assessment tools, education and training programs that include MDS process and coding. She has consulted with organizations regarding program development for nursing rehab, pain management, fall prevention, restraint reduction, use of psychotropic drugs and quality improvement. Barbara has presented patient safety seminars nationally. While working with Puget Sound Health Care System (Veteran's Hospital), she set up the hospice unit at American Lake. When the national rollout for MDS training came to the Seattle/Tacoma area, Barbara trained staff i.e.: Social Workers, Nurses, Therapy personnel, and Activity staff on how to implement the program. She has been credited with creating a Sensory Stimulation Program for Demented clients that was recognized nationally as an "Innovation in Care."
