What Bernard does

Bernard Gauci, who is Professor Emeritus at Hollins University, provides economics consultancy services, and has taught on a part time basis at the University of Malta.

Gauci first received his M.A. in Economics from the University of New Hampshire, and later received his Ph.D. from the same university. While studying at UNH, Gauci worked as a research assistant in 1975-76. He was also a visiting part-time lecturer at the Thompson School of Applied Science at UNH. Bernard Gauci was also appointed by Lynchburg College to teach on a part time basis in their Graduate Business Program extension. He also taught on a part time basis at Roanoke College.

Beginning in 1978, Gauci served as an assistant professor at Hollins University, and was subsequently promoted to associate professor in 1984. At Hollins, Bernard Gauci served for several terms as the chair of the Department of Business and Economics.

Dr. Gauci's writings include, just to name a few: "External Dimensions of the Maltese economy" in "The Maltese Islands on the move; a mosaic of contributions marking Malta's entry into the 21st century"; "Are Economists Xaxosians? A Socio-cybernetic Inquiry into Economic Theorizing, Policy Making and Behavior" in "The Cybernetics of Complex Systems- Self-organization, Evolution and Social Change," and "Governments, markets and industry" in "Malta and the EU: Together in change"?
