What Beth does

Service Areas: • Personal Coaching • Training and Speaking • Interactive Workshops, presentations, teleclasses, bookgroups

Through Intentional Talk, I offer coaching, programs and services that support creating a joyful life through loving and honest communication with ourselves and others.

As a personal coach, I bring compassion, skill and insight to my coaching partnerships. More than 13 years of experience in the artistic and nonprofit fields has informed my coaching and my life's purpose. I have played a wide range of roles throughout my career: musician, arts administrator, marketer, fundraiser, grantmaker, writer, and now, personal coach and entrepreneur.

At the root of my coaching relationships is the exploration of what it means to live an authentic life, based on clear intention and personal values. I am known for creating a safe, trusting space that allows you to fully express who you are, what you want and what you hold most dear. Dwelling in that space leads to breakthroughs and increased clarity, helping you to live and breathe into your best self.

Two Quotes I Live By: 1. "If you don't know where you're going, you'll end up someplace else." --Yogi Berra 2. "Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible." --St. Francis of Assisi

What Beth does best

Testimonial: Intentional Talk Workshop "Our program assists low income adults to gain the skills, the knowledge, and the courage to be self-supporting. As you can imagine, inspiring those who are currently in sometimes quite desperate situations, takes a person with significant motivational speaking abilities. Beth has an abundance of these skills along with a wonderful ability to calmly connect with her various audiences. Not only is she a positive speaker, she delivers her message concisely, professionally, and with compassion.

"Our students have commented on the content and usefulness of her workshops for quite some time after they have been presented. As the instructor, I have seen these same students actually put into practice much of what Beth has taught - which is exactly the kind of self-motivational skill we want our students to gain." --Wendy Simmons, Education Coordinator, Washington Women's Employment & Education

"Beth is a wonderful coach and true professional. She has a depth of experience working with individuals and organizations, helping them be truly effective in getting the success they desire. Her questions are insightful and her observations are astute. I trust Beth's knowledge and observations and have turned to her for guidance on a number of occasions. She is a pleasure to work with and I recommend her highly as a coach or consultant." -- Megan Raphael, Public Speaker, Courage coach, Group facilitator, Award-winning author of The Courage Code

"I had a wonderful overall experience, as well as a profound breakthrough, with Beth as my life coach. Not only does she provide a safe place for personal exploration, but she also asks powerful questions that allow me to broaden my perspective and deepen my understanding. I would highly recommend Beth as a Life Coach to anyone who is interested in co-created insight and action." -- A. Winters, Mukilteo, WA

Education

I am progressing through the Certified Professional Coach training program at the Academy for Coach Training/inviteCHANGE in Edmonds, WA. I am also a student of my family, friends, cats, clients and community.

My academic background includes a Masters in Arts Administration from Indiana U, Masters in Music Performance (clarinet) from Northwestern U, and a Bachelors in Music Performance (clarinet) from U of Louisville.

Experience

My extensive nonprofit career includes diverse experiences in marketing, communications, grant making and fundraising. I most recently had the honor of being part of the grant making staff for Rotary Charities of Traverse City (MI), the largest Rotary Club foundation in the country (and almost the world!). I've also had the pleasure of working for Interlochen Center for the Arts (MI), owning my own communications consulting business, and raising money for arts and religious institutions in Milwaukee, WI.

All combined, these passions and experiences have defined the reasons why I believe in the power and value of coaching: we all have the ability to make empowered choices, seamlessly blending intention, authenticity and personal values into every aspect of our lives. A personal coaching relationship supports your process, sparks transformation and builds on your strengths to help you reach your goals. In short, coaching empowers you to create your own success!
