What Beth does
I'm a researcher, teacher, writer, and traveler. I spend a good deal of time traveling around the world -- primarily to developing countries -- and looking at how people adopt and adapt technologies to local needs. The purpose of my work is to figure out how to design more creatively for diverse users in the areas of hardware, software, and services. See globalmobilesocial.com. I also do research on games, virtual environments, humanitarian relief, and hackers. In my off hours I like to make things.
What Beth does best
I'm best at synthesizing information. I watch, listen, learn, and then find patterns. I'm also very good at interviewing unlikely audiences.
What does Beth need?
I'm looking for consulting opportunities (especially people who might be interested in findings from previous international research), people who do similar work, and new areas to explore.
