What Bianca does
I provide the opportunity for folks to come home to their bodies, to support them in having the opportunity to savor the experience of life in their bodies if not find it completely delightful. I provide a safe place to do this, physically and emotionally, using yoga and massage, together and separately.
The people I most often work with are living with long term injuries or conditions, physical and emotional, which affect their ability to be comfortable in their own skin. Sometimes they know it and sometimes they don't, but either way, massage and yoga are amazing compliments in someone's life and are a great gateway to enjoyment and I'm fantastic at bringing them together or offering them separately.
What Bianca does best
I listen to people and follow through to help them get to where they want to be. I listen to what's happening to inhibit their optimal experience in their body through what I see and feel through yoga and massage. I take that knowledge into providing exceptional body work and individualized yoga practices, sometimes using both in the same or alternating sessions.
Massage sessions can include both deep tissue as well as subtle softer techniques and will often invite participation from the client in working with their breath and attention to challenging areas.
Yoga sessions are structured around the clients goals and may include a vigorous or gentle physical practice, meditation, and breath work. I'm particularly good at working with folks who have never practiced, those that are at a plateau and want to take their practice deeper, and offering therapeutic practices.
Blended and alternating sessions of massage and yoga are customized around specific needs and wishes of the client.
I bring a deep love and understanding of anatomy to support people in maintaining and seeking optimal movement and a connection to their deepest intentions.
Education
I completed my training in massage at Brenneke School of Massage in 2002 and have continued training with a few teachers on the complexity of connective tissue and a variety of techniques that support healing of injuries and fostering a more balanced relationship with the body. Additionally I completed and assisted Kate Jordan in her Bodywork for the Childbearing Year certification training.
I've been training as a yoga student since 1991 and as a teacher since 2001. I have been a dedicated student of Anusara Yoga , receiving mentorship and friendship from my long time teacher Denise Benitez in addition to wonderful therapeutic and customary trainings from many other fabulous Anusara Teachers, first and foremost being John Friend founder of Anusara Yoga.
Experience
Living in this body and working hard for it to be a fabulous, remarkable, and delightful experience. Full and exciting massage practice with many happy clients. Dynamic and challenging yoga practice and lots of experience teaching publicly and privately.
Besides that I know what it's like to work hard with my body and hands through years of experience doing general maintenance (handy gal), restaurant work (chopping, serving, etc), and even holding still in an office.
