Hi Carole, thanks for letting us know how valuable it was for you. I don't care how long anyone has blogged, there are always new things to pick up on.

Hi Carole, thanks for letting us know how valuable it was for you. I don't care how long anyone has blogged, there are always new things to pick up on.
Yeah, just upload them to your computer and the original files will stay there. Good thing as you will need to make the domain transfer or at least point it to you new hosting once you have that set up.
Yeah, I have heard that from a few people lately. They sign up for hosting, and get promised a lot with the monthly fee, and I find they are really getting so little. Or are not using what they are paying for. Sounds like they over promised. And yes, $200 a month is a bit on the pricey side. Guess it all depends upon your needs.
Fortunately, I have had pretty good luck with transfers, although doing only WordPress sites, there are some things that are inherent only to WP. But it sounds like a full FTP transfer would do the job for you. But of course there may be details that I am not aware of.
It really depends. Are you unhappy with who you have? If so, it's certainly worth the effort. If you need any suggestions, let me know... good luck!
Hi Carole, welcome to Biznik and to our group. Sounds as if you will have a lot to offer to the site.
And feel free to post any issues or WordPress ideas you may have...that's what this group is for!

I agree with Richard. And yes, I have done one for my biz and clients as well. They have really helped in "being found" and in "search results".
I would highly recommend visiting the profiles and talking to either Richard Geasey or Shannon Evans about this and, also, grab a copy of their book, Get Found Now, Local Search Secrets Exposed.
thanks, now that I see this, I'm thinking I saw something along this line before. It's funny as two of the top bloggers are in a battle over these two, each promoting the other!
Yeah, it's a nice theme, lot's of options. I used it on one clients site that wanted it converted to WP. It's nice and clean http://www.imagewearsolutions.com
Thanks Sheila, sorry I didn't get in here sooner.
Sounds like you are still looking for the comment info on the php pages. Unfortunately, it will depend on the theme. Offhand, and without seeing what you have going, it could be somewhere like single posts.php or something like that. Kind of a treasure hunt.
One thing to remember. If you change any php page, if you update that theme sometime down the road, the new version will write over your edits. So you have to be careful, take good notes and keep track of those things...
That's a tough call, as I have used both and really like both. Each is pretty darn intuitive and has a ton of features. The newest version of Headway is suppose to be fantastic. Am going to be doing a site with it here soon, so will give a report.
Wish I had a cut and dry answer here. Would love to see someone do a side by side comparison of the two....mmmm, maybe sometime!
I think it's mostly for posts overall and not sure if it fits your needs. But here's the link http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-postrank/
Okay, I see what you mean. You want it viewed publicly. Don't know of any plugins off hand. There's a post rank, but that just lists most popular posts. Maybe someone else might know of one, and if I come across something, I will post it.
Hi Michael, in Google Analytics, I find in the page views how many have looked at a particular post. Of course, that's only if they go in directly to that url. Otherwise it just shows the blog url. Not sure about StatPress.
Hey everyone, thanks for the wonderful comments. And yes, Terra, I know.... something will be in the works soon, possibly videos!
Hey Richard, great event. Lots of good connections, ideas shared and collaboration! ~bob
Hey Tammy, you and me are on the same page!
Hi John, this is a great question. I am going to put on my thinking cap and may have more to add, but working with dozens of website hosting companies over the years, I have found Bluehost.com to be the best, why?
1) 24 hour chat - I know others have this but I would say 97% of my issues with them have been solved there, and within minutes of talking to them
2) overall customer service has been incredible - they have gone the extra mile that I haven't found with other hosting companies.
So many hosting companies are quick to blame other things - your software, your internet connection, etc, but they always have an open mind and don't point fingers right away.
Good value, good product, good support. And they have been around for awhile.
Hey Richard, looking forward to this. Was kind of waiting to sign up to see how a meeting played out. Have a meeting in Auburn at 10 am, so I may be a little late, depending how the 167/405 parking lot treats me!
No, it's not an upgrade. We will be going through the current WordPress version, 2.8.5. I had mentioned 2.9 and if I have any info on that release I will share it at the workshop.
Realized this event is following my event at the Mosaic, so thought what a great opportunity to meet everyone. And heck, the event title made me curious...

Hey Richard, yes, I do the same. And Mark, ignoring them is good. It's funny about keeping them alive though, as I have found the creator of the post go in and comment on their own post just to do that!
And the signature link is one of the great values of being a ProVIP member. Not so much in your face!
Hi Marla, welcome. What a great service you offer.
As far as what Sheila mentioned, that is in addition to your website listing. Just go to your profile > account > preferences and you'll find it under "Biznik Post Signatures".
You can see the sample of mine below.
Hey Richard, thanks for jumping in. And you are right, this isn't the only place that it happens. I also see it a lot on LinkedIn. And you are exactly right, either it's a mistake or obviously blatant.
Just bums me out as I so enjoyed the discussions here and hate having to search to find them.
Hey Mark, thanks for chiming in. And you have really made a good point about BB's and the suggestions you have made prior to someone posting.
And another worm! Oh no! Now there's another "discussion" in itself. How you add to your network -- I'm thinking "different strokes for different folks". Now we'll see if you start that discussion?
Hi Ben and David, stuff happens, and I wasn't pointing fingers here.
Ben, yes, I know of new members who have done it without realizing the "whole" of Biznik. It does take time to learn the system.
And David, again not blaming anyone. Or even saying anyone is doing something wrong. I am simply asking the question, is this where these kind of postings belong? And where do we draw the lines?
As I said before, this is one reason I am coming to this part of Biznik less and less.
I knew I would be opening a can of worms here, but again, this is a discussion, right : )
