  • I guess 8:30 leaves me out - I was just informed that our work hours at my night job are changing next week - new start time is 8:30pm.

  • How late is this lasting? I have to work that night at 10PM in Bothell. I should work pizza too, but it is my BD so I am taking a few hours off.

  • Cassandra - do you think we could combine a St. Edwards Walk and Talk with the Tuesday lunch at Pizza Works? That would be a great way to build an appetite for pizza LOL.

  • Howard, that downtown Bellevue park has already been broken in for a Biznik Walk and Talk, Jenny Zappala had several there last fall. http://biznik.com/events/eastside-walk-and-talk-0

    It was a great place.

  • Kerrie, I will try to make this but I have to see what next week brings. We do have a Biznik lunch at Pizza Works at noon - if anyone RSVPs this week.

I've been on a Walk and Talk last September that Jenny Zappala hosted on the Eastside. http://biznik.com/events/eastside-walk-and-talk-0 It was a great way to network.

  • Wish I could make it, but our weekend driver quit so I'll be delivering pizzas.

  • If enough of you are interested in an evening event, we could do that. Please let me know.

  • Ann - Happy Birthday! It's my son's birthday too - and he is going to be there working - we could have had a birthday party LOL

Cassandra - sorry to hear - wee you next week

  • It's always a pleasure to have you for ever how long you can stay.

  • Fortunately, biznik doesn't have that charge model for hosting an event - guess that is one of the reasons it "doesn't suck"

We ended up with 4 inches of that snow last night, but it is mostly gone by now. Enough that I am venturing out in my Geo and not jeep sharing with my wife.

  • There is no cost for the event. I like the co-host help - if we get a large group and I get stuck behind the counter that helps. The second event that someone else hosted at Pizza Works, that is what happened - I had less than 60 seconds near the end to sit down. Last Tuesday we were missing our other employee and I didn't get a chance to sit down until the almost 1 so I missed most of it. And it looks like that may happen this Tuesday, also.

  • Along with protecting your customers identities, you must be diligent about your own. I check my business bank account online at least 2 or 3 times a week. When I opened it on Dec 26, I found 2 unauthorized purchases made on my business Debit Card. Of course, I reported it immediately to my bank and to the police.

The card did not leave my possession and I was told that they don't have to guess that many numbers and often get lucky on the combination of numbers and expiration dates. There is even the sophistication out there to clone credit cards once a "winning" combination is found.

In my case, I am almost certain those who did this will be caught. They used my account to pay their cell phone bill, then went to Ruth Chris Steak House for a five hundred dollar dinner. This goes to show that they don't have to be very smart to clone credit cards.

This has been my second personal brush with identity theft, the first one was a case of someone using my social security number to establish phone service in Southern California.

  • Page - sorry to hear about your car, hope it isn't too costly of a repair. We will look forward to seeing you at a future event.

  • Cassandra - Juanita only covers the south part of this hill - this area is so confusing LOL

  • Alison - We've kicked around what to call this area. Yes to those form NY, I understand that the "Upper Eastside" means something else.

Northend always implies Bitter Lake, Haler Lake, Lake City, Shoreline. North Eastside would probably be as equally confusing as Upper Eastside. North Lake is already taken for North of Lake Union, but would have worked for the North End of Lake WA.

This is getting some attention - maybe it will stick and we'll have a new general area. No Lower Eastside is really needed - is Renton even considered Eastside?

Even though my family has ties with Bothell from the 1890's I am on Finn Hill with a Bothell address and Kirkland / Kenmore addresses 3 blocks South and North, respectively. Bothell doesn't work well, we are not in Kenmore nor Kirkland. This confused area needs some type of identity for everything north of Redmond and Bellevue.

  • Victoria and the rest of you adventuresome souls - the main roads are plowed and OK - a lot of 2wd cars making it up and down the hill today.

To the snowbound - hope to see you when the snow is gone

  • Cassandra - I can always come and pick you up.

Everyone - Since the big winter storm didn't come and steal away our power we are still a go at least as of Sunday evening.

  • With the big winter storm predicted for Saturday through Sunday, lets hope we still have power and drivable roads on Tuesday.
