  • Wanted: Web programming (PHP) Offered: Web graphic work for your client projects!

I am a web designer who has little time or skill to mess with PHP coding (plus lack of desire to learn it), so I am always looking for a good programmer who is light on their feet and ready to help with a tweak here or there on projects for my clients, as needed.

I design web design layouts and graphics in Photoshop/Fireworks, then I use content management systems for building the sites (most of the time, else it's hand-coded, or I open up Dreamweaver once in awhile).

I'm using this opportunity to find someone to work with because I'm tired of the lack of quality work I get through online progammer/scripter job boards you might be familiar with (elance, scriptlance, getafreelancer etc.). I have thrown so much money into them and been disappointed too many times. It's like gambling :(

I am looking to find someone who I can toss around stuff with on an ongoing basis for projects. Helpful (but not required) if you are also skilled in CSS/XHTML coding...which I'm still a beginner at.

In exchange for your services (which I know are very time consuming and can be expensive) I offer my graphic expertise for web images, layout work, banners, logos, etc. for your client projects or yours, on ongoing basis, as well.

Since my offer of traded services may not always be even and perhaps run out at some point (you only need so many web graphics and stuff, right?), I'm willing to pay the right person eventually (what they are worth) and hopefully work with them permanently.

If this sounds like something you are interested in, give me a holler! I'm in St. Paul, MN, so if you are local, that's a bonus...but not necessary at all.

  • Your network, my network... whose network?

I noticed that when I'm perusing someone else's profiles, under their photo and contact links (send message, send compliment, add to network, etc.), it says "Your network" but yet it shows THEIR network connections, not mine.

Anyone else noticing this? I keep getting thrown off by it :)

I'm pretty sure I have ADD (!) so whenever I'm looking at another profile I forget this glitch, and am gobsmacked and think to myself, "how come there are all these people in my network that I don't recall adding?!" LOL.

Not sure if this is a bug already on the list of things to fix, but in case it isn't, can we add it to the wish list? Pretty please? :) I consider myself an above-average tech-savvy web user, but I can imagine other users (who aren't) being totally confused and thrown off by it.

  • Noob alert!

Hi everyone... My name is Bobbi Jo and I'm the owner of B. Woods Design in St. Paul.

Yeah I'm a newbie... I just found this site via a newsletter from a marketing expert whom I trust!

My company is 5 years old and specializes in professional websites, development, and maintenance. The philosophy of B. Woods Design is to build relationships to help each other succeed. I have over 8 years of years of experience in researching websites, web design trends and web technology and am self-taught, though I'm still learning new things every day.

I would love to answer any questions about websites, especially for small businesses and startups. I understand what its like to be a small business, because I'm one, too!

I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new people here, especially in the Twin Cities area of Minneapolis/St. Paul, and hopefully attend some events!
