What Brian does

Over the course of his 24-year professional career, Mr. Brian H. Ellerbe has demonstrated considerable talent in a broad range of industries, including college athletics and business development. Brian Ellerbe commenced his professional career as an assistant basketball coach at Rutgers University. Revealing exceptional talent as a leader, in addition to a thorough knowledge of the game, Brian Ellerbe quickly built a solid reputation as a charismatic, motivating Assistant Coach. Over the next nine years, Brian Ellerbe held various assistant coaching positions at numerous universities. Brian Ellerbe became the youngest ever full-time Assistant Coach in Division 1 at Bowling Green University. In 1988, Brian Ellerbe took an Assistant Coach position at George Mason University, where Brian Ellerbe assisted the Patriots in winning the Conference Title as well as the school's first NCAA Tournament bid. Brian Ellerbe later went on to become the Assistant Coach at the University of South Carolina, where he coached NBA stars Jo Jo English and Jamie Watson. As Assistant Coach at the University of South Carolina, Brian Ellerbe was instrumental in leading the Cavaliers to three NCAA tournament appearances and an NIT Championship win.

In 1997, Brian Ellerbe accepted his first position as Head Basketball Coach at Loyola College, where he posted the team's highest league finishes. Three years later, Brian Ellerbe was offered the position of Head Coach at the University of Michigan, where he led the team to win the inaugural Big Ten Conference Tournament Championship. Brian Ellerbe has competed, coached, and recruited around the world, including from areas such as Belgium, Germany, Greece, Nigeria, and Poland. During his years as a Head Coach, Brian Ellerbe became known for his knack of transforming troubled teams into successes. In 2001, Brian Ellerbe began a three and a half year project called the Motor City Educational Sportsplex. The project, a collaboration between the City of Detroit and the Detroit Public School system, is designed to enhance student achievement and athletic technology at urban schools.

In 2004, Brian Ellerbe leveraged his knack of injecting businesses with new life toward a new business pursuit. As the Vice President of Corporate Development for Las Vegas-based Madison Grace Construction, Brian Ellerbe oversees the development and maintenance of potential working relationships. Possessing a dynamic personality, Brian Ellerbe serves as the face of Madison Grace Construction, often coordinating and participating in company presentations. The primary external affairs contact, Brian Ellerbe additionally acts as a liaison between the company and all outside business contacts. With Brian Ellerbe as an integral member of the business development team, Madison Grace Construction has established working relationships with some of Las Vegas' most popular gaming institutions, including Boyd Gaming, Harrah's, MGM, Sands, and The Venetian. Madison Grace Construction, despite its relative newness, has taken on projects upwards of $200 million.

An alumnus of Rutgers University, Brian Ellerbe graduated with his B.A. in Urban Studies in 1985. A student with considerable athletic ability, Brian Ellerbe attended the university on a full scholarship.

Apart from work, Brian Ellerbe plays golf, travels, and reads. Brian Ellerbe lists "The Audacity of Hope," "The Bootlegger's Boy," and "Training a Tiger: A Father's Guide" among his favorite books.
