Contact Form 7 Plug-in

I’m not a ‘code guy’, so here I am asking for help. maybe someone has experience with this plug in? I looked into several contact forms plugins, even tried a few others, but this one seemed a good balance of options-versus-complexity,

I started using the "Contact Form 7" plug in and made a form on my blog's Contact page.

Using the only the form editor, I was able to add a separate box asking “How’d you arrive at this blog?”

I can format that, and have it appear properly in the finished contact form, but in testing, no text from that field is sent to me.

Ideally, someone would re-word for me the plug-in author’s process for achieving this. I just don’t follow his explanation 100 percent and have not found it reworded or otherwise demonstrated anywhere.

Any help is appreciated.

How do I: Fill page on Wordpress blog with image gallery?

Being primarily a print designer, I'm often frustrated trying to accomplish [what I think should be] simple tasks in Wordpress. I'll often kill an hour or two at a time trying to get some background info through Google, or through the Wordpress.org site.

In this case, I want to have a secondary page on my blog serve as an image portfolio, presenting the visitor a grid of thumbnails. Clicking on each one would present an enlarged image floating over the page.

I know there are several plug-ins for presenting those enlarged images. One I've chosen for now is FancyBox (http://blog.moskis.net/downloads/plugins/fancybox-for-wordpress/) because I like how it styles the floating box.

But the concept I can't get straight is how to make a gallery of images that will appear on one existing page! I know of 'Gallery shortcode' within Wordpress, but it seems to me to be geared to individual posts versus images on a page.

I'm also using the Thesis theme, and know "of" hooks and one gallery-related hook, but in their forum, someone has already asked an elementary question re: image galleries but has received no answer.

So I guess I'm just looking for some conceptual Wordpress assistance about making a page with a grid of images. I want to evolve my blog to incorporate images of my work along with descriptions for each image.

I'm [western] Massachusetts-born, Boston-trained and New Jersey-aged. I live in Bergen county; Paramus to be exact – the retail mecca of the the universe. Too bad I hate shopping.
