  • For us newbies, can you expand on what some of the suggestions you laid out mean? Or walk me through how to submit? Thanks!

  • As a "Thank you" for my clients that gave me referrals, I gave them $10 Starbucks cards. I know, I know, but my clients really appreciated them. And not everyone lives near a small, independent coffee shop! And when it was appropriate, I always try to refer business back to them in return. That is the ultimate "Thank you!"

  • I have benefited both personally and professionally from The Four Agreements. I love your bill of rights! "You have the right to be YOU, without restriction" is one I hold sacred. I have learned that with my unique style and personality, I have to be selective about the clients I take on. Finding that balance that works for me is vitally important. Thanks for such a great topic.

  • Thanks for the article Michelle! I would specifically like to comment on the first point you make about turning down work. It sounds crazy, but it has worked for me. I have found that with some patience and determination, the preferred client shows up rather than the "right here, right now" client. It really does work if you wait for it.

The lunch thing is a good point. I need to keep that in mind next time someone asks.

  • Thanks for the article Stephanie. I agree about paying it forward; we have to give in order to receive.

I'm sure I don't even have to put in the reminder about the hazards of doing free (or reduced rate) work for friends! When I was starting out, I learned my lesson the hard way when it came time for them to pay their bill. Your comment about putting the "discount" or "free" service in your contract is a vitally important detail. Thanks for the tip!

  • Hi Andrew,

Since I live and work (mostly) in West Seattle and have attended this before, mind if I pop in? I got so much out of the last one and would love the opportunity to be more of an observer to other's experience of this one.

  • Hi Karolyn,

You came highly recommended by Judith Stephens and I am interested and excited to see how this can (yes I said can) work for me. I have seen the power of guided visualization before in my life and it helped me to make some necessary changes in my personal life. Now my intention is to see how this can help me in my financial life!

    Looking forward to it!

  • I have been considering forming an LLC vs. my current sole proprietorship and just need to be pointed in the right direction. I also have questions about which types of insurance best suit my business.

Thanks so much for holding a FREE workshop about all of these important details.

  • Hotwire Coffee in West Seattle features artists through Twilight Artists Collective. Twilight are a great bunch of ladies who are all artists themselves and have 2 retail shops; one in the Pike Place Market and one in West Seattle (next to Easy Street Records).

    Cheers!

  • This was a fantastic group of people! All very passionate about life and what they do. I got the distinct feeling that we have a fundraising event in our future as a group. Everyone was very positive and willing to share. I highly recommend it!
