I was born and raised in West Linn, Oregon, lived in Seattle for 12 years, have traveled to Europe, taught English overseas, moved on a whim to Asheville, North Carolina, and finally have returned home to Oregon. My careers have included legal secretary, teacher, professional proofreader, and grant writer. As the owner/operator of Write Here, I offer workshops and one-on-one coaching for creative and business writers. My services also include proofreading and copy editing. My mission is to encourage and inspire self-expression through writing.

I believe my greatest strength is in motivating and supporting others toward achieving their writing goals. I'm a good listener and believe, as author Brenda Ueland says, "Everybody is talented, original, and has something important to say..." I will help you gain the confidence to tell your story in writing.

I would love to have writers, aspiring writers and anyone who has an interest in or longing to express themselves in writing contact me. I enjoy hearing from other writers to engage in conversation and possibly form new friendships. If you need encouragement and would like to participate in a workshop or one-on-one coaching, we can discuss that as well.

I have a BA in French, earned long ago and now mostly forgotten. I've taken many courses in writing, ranging from fiction and non-fiction to grant writing. I also hold a certificate to teach English as a foreign language and have taught in South Korea and the Czech Republic.

I have created and facilitated writing workshops since 1999, am a lifelong writer and my late career was as a grant writer. I occasionally offer help with grant writing and offer some tips on my website.
