My focus is in caring for families from around the time of conception through infancy. During this period of time intensive physical, emotional, and relationship changes occur. My focus is in caring for families from around the time of conception through infancy. During this period of time intensive physical, emotional, and relationship changes occur. As a chiropractic physician and midwife I hope to support families in their journey. As a chiropractor I work with moms and dads to help optimize health in preparation for conception. During pregnancy I work with moms to help their bodies adjust to the baby - everything from morning sickness in the beginning of pregnancy to low back pain at the end. Neuroemotional technique (NET), is a mind-body technique that helps moms, dads, and babies prepare for new roles and birth. NET is helpful for dealing with previous birth complications or a history of abuse. The midwifery model of birth advocates for a family-centered birth. This model is fully realized when childbirth education classes help prepare. After birth after breastfeeding is established and bonding is in place it is important to check the baby for subluxations and for cranial distortions which may impede a baby's ability to nurse or thrive. A few days after the birth it is important to check mom, too, with chiropractic and cranial sacral as her body begins returning to its non-pregnant state.

I am also a postdoctoral fellow at Oregon Health & Science University where I work as a researcher in OB/Gynecology. My research focuses on pregnancy-related low back pain.
