What Caroline does

What can I do for you?  Catch up your bookkeeping/data entry, file that pile, organize those papers, prioritize that to-do list. In short, make your work more fun, by taking care of all that paper work, so you can focus on the big stuff!  I can also be a brainstorming partner and a small group facilitator to help you corral ideas and create frameworks for moving forward.

I provide a suite of office services to small businesses, non-profits, and home offices. I can support your business in 4 ways:

o Clerical/Field Support - I can manage the paper flow in your office, the documents and reports, the correspondence, the communication (phone or email), the bookkeeping, and support you in the field collecting data, taking notes or photographs, and more.

o Computer Support - I can keep your computers running smoothly, updating software and hardware and troubleshooting day-to-day problems, and managing Tech Support.

o Meeting Facilitation - I can work with your staff or board or other group to forge new ideas, frame the work of the business, or manage regular meetings.

o On Call - I am on call to your business hourly, daily, weekly, or on a project-by-project basis.

What Caroline does best

I am interested in creating efficient systems, and organizing for a sense of ease and flow. I enjoy working with people one-on-one or in small groups.  It is very satisfying for me to help you define and refine your business, organize your office, handle your finances, find solutions to annoying problems, and play.  I work well on my own, and delight in a good team atmosphere.

My Skills: PC or Mac. Advanced User of Windows, Office, Money, Quicken, and QuickBooks.  Familiar with Project, Access, Adobe's InDesign, Photo Elements, HTML and more.  Languages: Advanced German, Intermediate French, Basic Dutch, learning Spanish.  Excellent writing and verbal skills, Type 70+ wpm

Education

I have a masters degree in management from Antioch University, and have trained in project management and microcomputers. My undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College is in Anthropology/Sociology and German.  I have also taken various personal growth courses that help balance out the business-y side of things.

Experience

An entrepreneur with 20 years administrative experience in the arts and computer industries, I have been board president of a small non-profit theater ensemble, and worked 10 years at Microsoft. I like to work with a variety of clients. Some clients I've worked with in the past include an arborist, a university dean, an artist, a graphic design firm, a piano teacher, a non-profit philanthropic organization, a personal trainer, a sign language interpreter, and more.
